But that's an impala.  I don't think you're really even from there.

100% that's an impala, a friend of mine shot one, I've got 15 kg in my freezer, I'm from South Africa dude  ::) I live in Durban. Here's me posing with some close friends 8)

Horse meat is supposed to be really good. I mean look at the animal itself.....just huge and muscular. Not that easy for everyone to get like dear though. I like rabbit cause its really lean but other than that its just regular boring bbing food for me.

I've never tried it, I do eat Ostrich a lot (steak, fillet, burger patties etc) I'd imagine it tastes pretty similar - very red, lean, strong flavoured meat. I spoke to Francis Benefatto (he lives here in Capetown) and he said a lot of french bodybuilders eat horse meat, I read Serge Nubret PIP used to eat a few pounds a day.

I think the french Canadians do too? Maybe Stavio will chime in...

Warthogs, they're very aggressive so I kept my distance there.

Impala are a dime dozen here... You actually get bored of seeing them when you go to game parks here.

Have been buying venison grill steaks and meatballs for a while, they are not very popular in England but sometimes they sell out where I shop. Delicious and very lean. not too expensive either. Good alternative for someone like me who is not a big fan of fish but doesn't want to rely on beef all the time.

You're right, in some parts of Canada like Quebec horse meat is very easy to get. I don't know the price of it and if bbers are eating it though...

Are there things that you simply would never eat?

For me I'm up for anything except dogs, cats, and rats. I would eat guinea pigs and capybara like they do in Peru and South America though.

I don't like the thought of eating anything that eats meat or is omnivous (pigs, rodents etc)...I've eaten flying ants here, the Zulus fry them in butter (not bad) I did have a guinea pig in Cusco (Peru) it's just skin & bone and the toughest, nastiest meat ever, I wondered why the waiters were chuckling when I ordered it  :D

Great thread.

Deer is one of the best forms of meat there is.

I have about 100 pounds of fresh venison in my freezer right now. I have a large tract of land that is filled with white tail and i take 2-3 down every year to stock my freezer.

I think i'll cook some back strap fillets tonight.

Could we eat less of it since it works better?
Right now I'm choking down 2lbs. chicken, 1lb. beef, along with some eggs or a shake and that's just to get my bodyweight in protein (320).  I hate eating like this, but its all I know.  I spend half my free time eating and the other half shitting it all out. LOL
