what does being a drug addict have to do with breaking police policy and using excessive force, clearly it was excessive since the outcome does not match the crime. Dude gave her a life sentence for running because he is stupid.
lets see, as a superior intellect lets point out the assumptions you have made to form your sentence.
you state she is a drug user as evidence she doesn't value her life, this implicates that all drug users are suicidal, you have no reason to believe. From her actions she clearly values her life and freedom what do you think these people are autonomous robots that have no self preservation? go read a book.
nice assumption with no evidence as usual that tackling is more dangerous then taser usage. The assumption is wrong, as a doctor i can tell you that running a current through someone without medical history is clearly more dangerous then tackling someone. Also, she was 100 pounds you are acting as if he would have to break her in half to stop her, lol.
So many stupid fucks on this board.
Speaking of stupid fucks... hi

You cannot determine what is reasonable force solely based on the outcome. That would be ludicrous. ANY use of force has the potential to result in some freak accidental outcome. What person would put on a uniform if held to such a ridiculous standard?
I didn't take that drunk driver into custody because I was afraid if I put my hands on him he could pull back and what if his head hit the curb? He could die and I would be charged with excessive force....
I didnt...well you get the point.. I hope
Use of force standards are in place well before the officer hits the streets. They are fashioned as reasonable as possible. We KNOW Tasers have a short term effect on the body and are deemed safe 99% of the time. We have policies about using electronic devices on people who are obviously pregnant, obviously juvenile, obviously covered in flammable liquids etc etc.. We have rules against using them on handcuffed subjects in most cases.
This cop in this case apparently followed the rules, she did not. 9 times out of 10 that would have ended with her back in custody with road rash. It is really fucktards like you, no offense, that live in this Alice in Wonderland world that really need to just shut the fuck up and buy a clue.
Again, no offense.
