How do you know this Vince? Do you have a recommended Health Plan being self-employed? Hospitals wont let you die if no insurance but will ruin your credit.

I use a limited VA plan but New York health plans are high. Minimum plan I know would run at least 200 a month with a very high deductible but it wouldn't be an issue. If he lived in North Carolina, a similar plan would only run 54 dollars a month

hospital's usually have an annual amount they reserve for low income patients, they write it off as charity, he could qualify for this. Also they wouldn't ruin his credit if he has no income, he could get in the program and not have to pay a dime.

I doubt Derek has health insurance so he would be an ideal candidate for this, no income to speak of, etc etc.

Medical bill don't effect credit. And they will not write it off.

Yes they do, they turn over past due bills to collection companies, most within 90 - 120 days. Which of course shows up on your credit, a lot of hospitals these days have debt forgiveness plans but you have to sign up for it and send it in etc... it's not something they just do for you. I'm sure DA is way to lazy to do any of that, I'm sure his credit was ruined a long time ago.

so i happened to listen to the first part of Derek podcast...
i see a broken man, he was holding his tears while talking.
He said when the kidneys where working fine they where working 40% i can only imagine how little they are working now since he has been undergoing severe dialysis for weeks and is already talking about a kidney transplant.
He says hes holding his head up but the man is broken and hopeless and hes lost his hopes and already asking for prayers.
