"a little history of the world", Great book
« on: February 25, 2012, 11:19:51 AM »
I just finished reading this, it's a great book since it's explain in a way that it seems like you are reading a story.
I am interested in history, but usually it fucking bores me to death the way books are written.

it goes from "the beginning" to WW2

it's bodybuilding related cause it made me hate the japs and Hidetada Yamagishi is a jap ;D

Meh that shit is useless, real getbiggers stick the history of important things, like the first lift,  the first inccident of g2p, and the rise of wyhi threads.

Glad you enjoyed the book, I study history everyday but what is disturbing is the writers always have predisposed ideas and always cloud the facts so one history book is far from accurate. The general time lines and era's for the most part will be accurate, ie,. like the major battles and revolutions, but the more detailed battles and horrors, atrocities, selfishness, lack of empathy and barbaric behaviour are always watered down.

Now you mentioned you read something about the Japs, something you didn't like, now ask yourself this question.

What if you seen a group of people that took 10 000 woman and children and set them on fire, then the same group of people smashed 10 000 woman and children with concrete breaking 50 bones, watching them die a slow and painful death, then another 10 000 woman and children and soffocated them, then another 10 000 buried alive, then another 10 000 woman and children, but this time they never killed this group, they just cut off their arms legs, poked out their eyes, made them death and filled them with deseases?.... what would you think of a nation that did all this to another nation?

Well the US did all the above and x 100 to Japan when they dropped 2 nukes on the innocent people, now the scary part is the world is a lot safer with the US running the show then at least 80% of all the other nations.

Didn't know they did that !  :-\
Yeah, that's the thing about pretty much every book, every writer put their bias into it so you have to read about 20 of them about the same subject to get a good idea of what actually went on !

haha not so long ago, bodybuilding was all I cared about.

but now I feel there is too much things I don't know in this world and too much place I haven't seen.
I only traveled across canada this year and it made me realise I didn't even know my own country

so now instead on putting my money on drugs, I'll put some money on drugs and some money on travelling

History is always very interesting indeed. You can never know too much about the past.

Though I personally prefer to study the history after the ww II.

Bro please keep on reading history books, you will get addicted to it and it is always nice to learn how the earth was forged, ya it's a tragedy that the US did that, they justified it by saying it ended the war but killing people that aren't soldiers is horrible, look it up, the cities were Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Aug 6 and Aug 9, 1945.
