there are many and each style  of music has crossover type ,styles, that are and have been influenced by other styles,,like peart who's a hard rock drummer who loves and has has jazz influence and recently changed his technique, charlie watts, copeland, lars ulrich, and one of my fav's and is the heartbeat of the band and unusual sound is larry mullen jr from u2,dude has great drum sound and is heavy player and big sound.peart is symbolic like bonham with rock i mean incredible drummers, and phil collins is no slouch either big sound there too.

I like this answer.  There's never really one best - too much talent out there and too many styles.  It's all subjective.

A few might snicker at this but Tommy Lee of Motley Crue is pretty damn good.

Don Henley and Phil Collins were damn fine drummers.

Gene Krupa was fantastic as well.
