You can easily pick up a used Porsche at the price of a new Corolla.  You oughta get a Boxster.  They are well built and you can a good one around 15,000 even, especially if you check the enthusiast forums.
True. I however really would like a smooth MB S500 ... the new one .. until I can get that I am cool

Boxster's are for those who cannot afford a real one aka 911

I don`t know about that my friend.  Boxster is a solid, reliable car and for the price you can`t beat it.  A Cayman is also a good choice or you could go with a used 911.

i like them...but, they have the "hairdresser" stigma attached to them...like the SLK, and the Z3/Z4...
There is a guy who has a white one who lives near me...due to it being a late 90s one, he gets smoked by kids in S2000s.

Porschephiles abhor the the 90s into early 2000s ones because Porsche due to cheapness had the boxster and the 996 911 share the same nose, headlights, interior trim, and dash. So, Porschephiles want to forget the 996 911, and burn the Boxster that had the fame "face"

I like the Cayman better, it's sexier, more hp, and it has a top.

Oddly, When Porsche went racing with it's GT1 based 911, it went mid-engine, just like the Boxster...the optimum configuration is mid-engine, the 911 has a less than optimum cofiguration...so, Porsche in effect has shot itself in the foot by having a cheaper car in it's line up with a better configuration, thus, they handicap it with less hp.

Before the Boxster there was the 914 4/6, which still to this day hands porsche 911 their ass on tracks---why, because it's mid engine.

Your auto knowledge is astounding.  I like some of the old Porsches nobody finds appealing really, like the 944 Turbo and the 928S.  Would you do a Boxster over either of those?

Thank you...both sides of my family are like that.
yep...944's 4 cyl has some serious issues, and expensive. 928S V8's has issues as well..there is a brit show that you can find on Youtube, they take older cars, a 928S for example, buy it, and fix it up to flip it...they talk about certain issues...

Back in 1982, 83, my Aunt was looking for a new car, I was about 5 or 6. Her choices she had narrowed down to were 1983 Datsun 280 Z and a black Porsche 944. She asked me which one, and I said the Datsun 28Z due to the rear seats being bigger (which was a plus for me riding in it). She got it, and she still has it...had she gotten the 944, she would have been looking at expensive bills to keep it maintained and running.

Boxter is too faggish to be honest .. it has nothing to do with the classic in which another fag James Dean died.

I would like one .. sure .. but Borxter like SLK and Z3..Z4 are bitch cars.

I think the 280z is one of the most beautiful cars built and another that I`d much rather have over new cars these days.  It really follows the same lines as a Ferrari Daytona and reminds me of the Jaguar E types.

Speaking of Jaguars, another older one I REALLY like is the XJS.  I watched that video you posted with the "beat up classics" and that thing was still fast despite its mistreatment.

Another interesting and little known car I like is the Aston Martin Lagonda.

Agreed, the Z or Fairlady line was designed by a European, if I recall, who wanted to recall some of that early Jag styling.
XJS were nice, my mother wanted one. Very iconic car, right up there with the 911 in terms of  distinctive shape and styling. ...

Lagonda's were ahead of their time, yet featured the angular styling of it's time...like it's eoxtica comteporaries--Countach, Ferrari 308, 328 GTS, Maserati Biturbo

You can get a nice Lagonda these days for around 35,000 I think.  I`m not sure of reliability, but I`d much rather have that than a Toyota Avalon or something like that for the same price.

As you probably know from you Lotus ownership---British cars were not known for their reliability---and Aston's especially were not known for being reliable...they were not known for making money either.

the british show is called Wheeler Dealers, excellent show, it should be on youtube or streetfire.net.
