RIP Johnny
« on: March 03, 2012, 09:04:49 PM »
It is with the heaviest heart that I'm posting this message to let you all know that my Johnny of 11 years is gone. He was put down today  after fighting a battle with spondylosis and skin issues that had him lose a lot of his hair  and caused him much discomfort.

The look in his eyes the last few days was one of a dog too tired to go on and he was strangely calm today at the vets office when he would normally be hyperventilating and shaking from stress.

Coming home to an empty house is tough but Johnny will live on in my heart always.

Johnny, I will miss you more than words can describe. Thank you for all the laughs and  I hope I was a good "father" to you.

I love you buddy.

Thanks to everyone on the pets board who helped with suggestions that helped ease some of Johnny's suffering.

Thank you so much. It'll take time to get over the loss. I just need to ball like a baby for awhile.

Thank you everyone, your words mean so much to me as Im having quite a difficult time getting over my loss.

I still expect to see my boy lying in the sun when I walk through the door. I wish I could have had more time with him but I guess the shortness of their lives is what makes the time we do have that much more precious.

Thanks again everyone.

This exact thing happened when we had to take our dog about 9 years ago.

So sorry for your loss chafed.  When I first saw this thread I couldn't bring myself to open it.  The rest of us pet lovers grieve with you.

Praying for some peace and comfort to come to you soon.
