Russia is a fucked up country, esp since the fall of communism. The extreme income differences, abuse of alcohol, corruption, crime, nuclear disasters & worse economy are prime examples of this. On the other hand this country is full of intellectuals, scientists, artists, etc, but most of them have no future in this destroyed society, very sad.

Seriously, wtf you talkin dp ?

Russia as a country has currently practically no foreign debt. Rare these days.
That has been Putin's policy; If you owe to someone, you are his slave. Look at USA: They must kiss China's ass because of their debt.

Yes, repair is slower without debt but Putin chose it because it keeps the country independent.

Income differences?
Haha, how is that good in USA but bad in Russia ? Never got this.
It's called non-socialism.

Nuclear disasters?
Chernobyl ? That's not in Russia, that's in Ukraine.
Of course Russia has nuke test sites contaminated from Cold war days.
You know how big Russian Federation is ? If it was a house, you could place USA in the living-room.

Yes, shitloads of problems. The corruption being the most urgent.
There have been pretty epic estimates on how much of the money federal government allocates on different purposes, goes to pockets of regional leaders.
No one is denying that.

I think a good gift for the President would be a chocolate revolver.
And since he's so busy, you'd probably have to run up to him real
quick and hand it to him.

Damn - well made.
Russia is so vast that it's hard to say what Russia really is(major cities are often differ dramatically in mannerism and culture). A land of such magnitude will always need a stronger hand to keep it in check - similar to China. Since her population is declining(Russia) people who are able and wanting to reproduce get some good bonuses in form of land and housing. An idea which is compatible with their endless symphony of soil.

Oh, and if you're not above average in money than you better have some thick pullovers at hand.

Exactly!

Says that middle-class (which exist for the first time in the country's thousand-years history thanks to...well you all know) is not pleased with Putin anymore.
AND THAT'S GREAT!
I recall he didn't get majority in St. Petersburg either.
In some areas of Moscow, Prokhorov - the multibillionaire freshman in politics - earned most of the votes.

Putin has already accepted the law that governors of republics are going to be elected by people from now on.

It's pretty big step to more open system.... regional governments make plenty of decisions that straightly affect every day lives of people.
Now governors etc. must consider what people want because their job is not guaranteed by good relations to Kremlin.

Not only that.

Far from what it once was but Putin's contribution is evident.

That same graph could also be used for the increased price of Oil and Gas.

I can see why most Americans call him a dictator..... I suppose he his when compared to the slack jawed f@ggots that have been elected here the last few terms.

I don't care what anyone says.  In America (I'm American) the president doesn't have the power to do jack shit on his own.  You notice how Obama has been ranting the last few days about gas prices?  He knows that most Americans have the attention span of piss ants, and only care whats going on right now. I don't vote because it doesn't fucking matter who the president is.  Some people will love him and some will hate him.  Congress controls America.

America is losing influence and hates what Russia's been doing. The continue to gain importance and are enhancing their footprint - and they can do so without too much of sword-rattling in many areas.

Europe is also demonizing Puti, but they have to give in sooner than later. Germany is spreading her legs as we speak to blossom russian energy.

America better spend their fossil fuel with care and power the war machine as long as energy is there to grab.
