Anyone into beekeeping?
« on: March 05, 2012, 09:36:27 AM »
Im thinking of giving it a try.. for hobby firstly and then slowly proceed into extracting honey for sale.

And maybe export into other countries.

Opinions please

Great hobby.

Lots of interesting books on the subject, especially some books from the turn of the 20th century, available on Amazon.

I wish Amazon had been around when I got into it, as the best books are pretty much the top 5 listed there.

Raw honey with cappings + ACV = health and longevity.

I kept reading this as "bookkeeping". Then I wondered why people were talking about honey?  I'm a moron.

Raise Agave bees.  Agave syrup tastes better than honey.

My grandfather raised honey bees.  Scared the crap out of me.  He also had orange groves, so I guess it would've been orange blossom honey.

From what I understand, to reap the health benefits of honey, it should come from a source relatively local to you.
