I know nothing about that 1st Gen Fujita fight footage but it most likely consisted of a few weeks rehersal with the combatants, and a full week of blocking the shots with the non-rolling camera and light crew plus a fight director and choriographer. And possibly a standby medic, plus a good number of others if the union was involved.
I was involved in a fight scene shot on the Universal backlot in which a bottle broke on my head after I was sucker punched with a breakaway chair while a friend fell onto a breakaway table.
20 seconds of footage which took over 4 hours and numerous props before a wrap. That impressive fight scene shown above must have taken at least a week to shoot.
And major expense.
