McGough has been in the bodybuilding game for over 40 years , he has a wealth of experience and first hand knowledge , he's seen Ronnie and Dorian through their entire careers , he's been to most of the shows live and in person for decades !!! his opinion is accurate and unbiased as well as consistent
I would take his word on the subject over almost anyones , especially yours and Hulksters.
Ronnie himself said 98 was his best Olympia at least 5 times and the reason he said so is consistent with what McGough and others have said , he was simply better conditioned.
I think Ronnie looks better fuller like in 99 but it's obvious to anyone who knows what they're looking for he's not as hard or dry and for this reason many consider 98 or 01 his best showings.
