Valid question. How long will they be innovative.
They're not innovative and haven't been for a long time.
Their problem is complacency. They restrict the user experience and create a walled garden. They also exploit consumer loyalty by releasing tiny little updates to all their devices instead of bringing out something new and revolutionary. They can polish a turd until it shines like a diamond but they have easy problems that hold the company back.
I know the company isn't doing BAD per se, but they could do so much more if they wanted. I'm a super loyal Google/Android fan but I admit they could CRUSH the Android platform if they wanted. But instead they let Google embrace nerds and give us the ability to create our own user experience. They've given us a home and Apple's attitude is "like it, or fuck off"... well, until they stop using proprietary cables, stop releasing small updates and try pawning them off as revolutionary, until they get rid of iTunes, until they stop being anti-competitive and until they stop being hipster douche bags I'll continue to support their greatest rivals.
Like many others I WANT to like Apple but they make it really hard. Good thing there are billions of idiots in this world who'll eat their products up though. They don't have much to worry about.
