mp3 players cost very cheap compared to the over priced ipod, why on earth would someone get an ipod when they can get a 30 - 60 dollars mp3 player for the gym or whatever and not be worried about banging it up?  People will and are going to realize apple is just shit wrapped in a shiny blanket.

Best MP3 playing and doesn't break the bank or the screen.

exactly, there are tons more and I don't see how anybody could pass them up for some big ass ipod that is twice or three times expensive, I don't even know the cost of them now, but they are stupid expensive, plus iTunes slows down your computer to utter shit.

they are expensive because apple took the risk of reinventing mp3 players so others could copy them

hope this helps

Smart phone screens are around 4-5" and tablets are double that, so it's more than sufficient for checking frequented forums, grabbing a recipe, etc. You can also hook these up using MHL/HDMI out and use BT keyboards. Hell, I just threw Ubuntu on mine and it runs flawlessly for what I need using a BT keyboard and mouse.

The smart phone scene is only starting to blow up right now. Big, big things on the horizon. Any time there's a hurdle, problem or setback in the Android scene there will be 100 amazingly talented hobby developers who will resolve the challenge, guaranteed. My phone does more than I could ever ask for. But if there's something more I need, I can simply ask another nerd and they'll happily fix the bug or include the requested feature. The Android community is truly amazing.

On one hand I hate to be so technology-dependant, but on the other hand I don't give a flying fuck because I absolutely love all my handheld devies! ;D

It's easier to look like an impressionable, hipster douche bag if you rock the Apple products. That's about it though.

steve jobs is dead = apple is finished. The real question is how long will Apple last on Job's legacy and all the money generated during his reign.

What are expensive?  Apple's mp3 players?  They didn't invent the mp3 player lol.  Most mp3 players worth buying look nothing like the ipod, they are quite the opposite just like they were before the ipod came out.

Yes Jobs was the creative mind behind the products, he was a visionary like an artist, make you want to own the phone because it is "sexy", no one will buy apple hardware in the future if it just has updated specs, people will catch on.  Jobs was a one of a kind though person.

the new IPad is nothing new.  What they put in better resolution and added is to 4G network.  The new iphones have siri which is the most annoying thing ever.

Has this company reached its peak?
Yeah, there are only a limited amount of homos in the market! And pretty much all the homos have their apple fix by now, so I would say it is all down hill from here unless Apple start to Target the heterosexual market they may go down the tube relying on the gay dollar.

there are so many other options now as well.  iTunes is a resource hog, now full of bloatware that apple pushes down your throat just to update your firmware on your phone.  The iPhone does not do what it has in its name, is be a phone, it absolutely sucks as a phone in voice quality, connection, etc etc, compared to other manufactures of phones that actually know how to make them properly.

Valid question. How long will they be innovative.

For as long as their advertising can persuade us they are innovative. Same as always.

I have been involved with computers for 30 years, my dad was an engineer and had one of the first computers in our neighboorhood and I have been hooked ever since, but I never got on the Apple bandwagon, in the beginning it had some creative advantages, but once microsoft caught up, it was pc's all the way.  Apple do not produce anything technically superior to anybody else, they just know how to jazz it up for all the middle class wankers.

even if they did nothing but ride the patents they currently have and make zero innovation or progress i think they could continue being one of the industries leading companies for another decade.  but without jobs... that may end up being the case. time will tell.

exactly... my wife got me an ipod touch last year... it's collecting dust now cuz i used it twice and threw it somewhere to go back to my $20 mp3 player that's about 1/8th of the size and i can change the songs by clicking a button... not to mention that i won't blow $200 by accidentally sneezing on it while using that piece of crap...
regular cheap ass mp3 player = a battery life of 10 days, just drag the damn songs you want to get them there, costs practically nothing, won't ask you for updates every 3 minutes, you don't have to spend another $100 for accessories to make it half practical to carry, it's actually SMALL!

ipod= piece of crap that dies out in 2 hours, you need to basically split the atom with your bare hands to move a damn song on the piece of crap, costs a fortune, have to spend 8 days to change a song while working out, you can't buy a cheap ass $2 USB chord to charge it or use it if you lost yours... you're gonna have to shill out >$10 for a damn wire.

but hey! it's awesome cuz steve said so and it's so revolutionary and uberamazing cuz you can play angry birds on it!

exactly that is what I don't get about the whole ipod thing, if you sit on a couch and listen to music while you treat it very carefully it could be useful I guess, but iTunes makes it so hard to get and transfer music to it and scroll to your music.  A regular mp3 player you can just drag and drop and it is much smaller and no worries of dropping it.

For my phone and tablet I use Android, computer is a windows PC all the way.

I could not get into the hype of using a Mac or any iproducts.

Any time I have to use iTunes to help my wife with something on her iPhone, I think of how awful of a software iTunes is.... Seriously, For how easy all the apple products are, they really fucked everything up with iTunes.

To each their own I guess..., the game is about to get more interesting with Windows 8 on the horizon, and windows tablets.

I think its all about the eco system each company is putting forward, and personally, i'm very happy with how Google is doing this.
