how the hell is it 'exploitive'?

It's a lot less demeaning than being a human sandwich board.

This is just people being fcking crybabies.  Take the job or dont.  For someone with nothing to do - $20 to just chill on the corner all day - that's $600 a month.   That's over $7k a year for 'chilling'.
