Ahmed Hamouda is probably the biggest bodybuilder to ever come out of Egypt. Over there he is one of the best known current bodybuilders of our time and appears in different TV ads, etc
I'm not a fan of most of the pro bodybuilder's in Egypt or the circuit there - A lot of sketchy people in the industry over in that part of the world! I was invited to meet Dr. Adel Fahim El Sayed President of the Egyptian Federation of Bodybuilding (The IFBB's arm in Egypt) at his office. He was very nice to me, we talked about whether I could have a future with them and if I could ever make it to a point where I could travel with the Egyptian team to the World Championships etc....
Obviously, the fact that I was natural, and wanted to stay natural did not sit well with him or his colleagues, and I just wasn't ready to get mixed up in all their politics. Most of the guys that came to him were unemployed, uneducated, looking for sponsors, willing to take any drugs they could to get to the top, etc. We never met again and I never competed in Egypt.
I was never sure of this guy's genuineness, but when I spoke with Nasser (He is half Egyptian, and has some ties over there), he insisted that in the Industry, Dr. Fahim was one of the nicest most sincere people that he had ever met and done business with.
