Look at Vader in "Revenge of the Sith."  Supposedly has pain, hate and anger kept him alive long enough near the lava flow, but he was also more gifted in the Force than anyone, including Yoda and Sidious.  Had Palpatine not arrived and done everything he could to save Vader, he would've died.

So, now, the less powerful Maul survives being chopped in half and falling hundreds of meters down a pit because he was "mad" enough to keep living?

That's stupid.  I also think Mother Talzin or whatever is stupid.  Could the Emperor wave his hands and give Maul a new lower body out of scrap droid pieces?  Doubtful, yet all of the books and shit say he is by far the most powerful Sith Lord of all time.  In this episode, even Maul said he was once appreciate to the most powerful being in the galaxy (Palps).

I give The Clone Wars series some credit.  Anakin is a warrior general and decent guy, not the whiny bitch he was in the prequels.  It also shows some pretty cool things for a kid's show.  When I was little, nobody ever died on the Transformers or G.I. Joe until they did their animated feature films.  But we see people die all the time ... clones flying out of depressurized starships, asshole bounty hunters getting whacked, innocent types being slaughtered ... pretty cool.  And for anyone who thinks that's not in keeping with the movies, watch Episode IV again.  Owen and Lars -- 'nuff said ;)

I was under the impression that Obi-Wan cut Maul in half at the belly, but in this cartoon they make it seem like only his legs were cut off.  Suspension of disbelief is a must, especially in cartoons... like how the Coyote can get an anvil or gigantic boulders dropped on his head and keep coming back for more.

I really like The Clone Wars cartoons.

Obi admitting that he's outmatched?

Obi was outmatched in PM.  The only way Lucas could sell the Maul defeat was for him to let his guard down in a bullshit manner.

Maul was cut at the waist. Remember his species (he's not human, but people keep basing his injury as if he was a human being) has a high tolerance for pain.

Force is stronger in Vader, but Maul is more of an athletic, samurai type fighter, just more dynamic.

Really, Obi is standing in one spot, and can stop Maul's strikes, but he couldn't do it in the beginning with his Master.  I know people will say Luke used anger against Vader, but Vadar wasnt as fast and skillful as Maul after his injuries and at the top of his dueling game.

It should have taken yoda or windu to defeat Maul.

Nice going George.  ;)

Acutally, Obi should have lost a limb in this fight.

Really?

Gee.  That escaped my attention  ::)

Why is it that ANY discussion of fictitious matter is met with the bleedingly obvious, hurfdurf "it isn't REAL!!!!?"

DUH.  We know it's not "real."  So what?

Even cartoons have to make some sense.  All fantasy stories do.  Otherwise, why doesn't Obi-Wan or Wily E. Coyote just fly off to the moon with a set of wings they conveniently found from nowhere somewhere?

Lucas did everything wrong in that film EXCEPT for Maul and he even killed him off before he should have. There is a clip of Lucas and his crew watching PM when it was finally done and the look of disappointment could not be hidden.
