Eating tips thread, post yours
« on: March 19, 2012, 05:23:54 PM »
if im behined on sleep and its around night and i dont wanna take a nap ill try to eat more baked beans instead of the junky food thats easy to eat when your sleepy or behined on sleep. its very hard lifting weights though when behined on sleep so i just opt for more bean eating on these days

if im full on food but am still dragging for energy ill eat a ton of raw greens to help it digest and re-perk myself up for some lifting

find out what time your usual supermarket starts discounting its cooked food. rost chickens, ribs and the like. salivate as your buying two chickens for the price of one, which means that a whole fucker is all yours. ideally try and avoid the fucking firey ribs and the southern fried chicken. shit like that is so tempting.

whole rotisserie chicken and a lovely salad for tea that evening  :P

foods to be avoided at night, ( inducing sleepiness, morning drowsiness or otherwise "sleepy foods"): baked potato, over cooked foods, or foods prepared in the oven.

food to eat a night: green peas, bananas, quinoa, chick peas, among other. these are foods will give you energy after 30 minutes top, and a readiness and will for physical exertion. induces morning brightness, alertness and a clear mind.

I just found this out yesterday. Every Tuesday my local supermarket reduces their price on rotisserie chicken.

Some healthy supermarket opened up in my town (fresh and easy I think?)
They have tons of prepackage meals in the fridge that are delicious.
Every day they put the ones close to expiration in a 50% off section.
I go there as much as I can and stock up. I got omega free range eggs for 79 cents,
and 80g of protein (chicken breast) with mashed potatoes and carrots for $2.50

tip for those that hate vegetables but need them for health...
get a Vitamix. Best investment ever.
I grind up bags of broccoli, asparagus, kale, and every other healthy nasty green.
I add pineapple juice and protein powder and it tastes fine.

its great grabbing bargains. we got two punnets of grapes which were about 1/3 each of the original asking price. plenty of other fruits. a bit of veg. didn't get the asparagus 'cos i've never had it before and despite many people seemingly loving it, it just doesn't really appeal to me  :-\

its always a bit pot luck though with the general groceries.

Sounds like a great bargain! I wish we had stores like that around here, its very difficult to find discounted food items where i live. I can walk into a grocery store and spend $40 and only get one bag of groceries.  Im not a big fan of eating green vegetables either, so i eat a lot of salads, adding lots of cucumber and peppers and sometimes broccoli. Thankfully we have a few cows, so every october the freezer gets restocked with beef and i don't have to worry about buying meat for a couple months. Sometimes i opt for the whole chickens (uncooked), as i can get 2 for $15. Its always painful reading posts from people living in the states talking about how cheap food is, lol. jealous!

Sound advice.  I've been stopping off each night at a supermarket, getting meat for half off to cook for that evening.

indeed! it's the only way i can afford to eat so much steak  8)

but, yeah.. bargain meats.. its a no brainer. enough quality meat for a whole family at a lot less than the normal high prices..

just make sure you get those suckers you aren't gonna be eating in the next day or two!!! i had a few lamb cutlets that went bad rather quickly in the fridge..

i hope you're taking notes johnny  :)

Sweet potato for dehydration and leanness

No carbs at night, they turn to fat

No simple sugars, sugar = fat

Fructose turns into fat 100%, avois fruits at all costs

Pre and post workout whey protein isolate, drink in the 30 mins window after training and right before, as they are fast absorbing

Chicken, the secret to being hueg is Chicken and Chicken, sometimes Tilapia, but its a lot more expensive

Rice is magic

Avoid white carbs, only brown

Fat is bad, dont eat fat, specially not when dieting down

When dieting dont eat carbs, only when bulking up

Too much protein is bad, avoid too much protein, it will kill your liver

In fact, avoid everything, everything gives cancer and aids, dont eat, its the healthiest of things
