Have been a metal fan since the age of 12, in 1982. Hard rock, traditional metal, thrash, death, black, whatever ... I like lots of groups in all substyles.

Cannibal Corpse
Fates Warning
Savatage
Judas Priest
Ratt
Nocturnal Rites
Iron Maiden

I have the debut CD from Aeon playing as I type, actually! "God Gives Head In Heaven"!

In the same vein, I listen to a lot of Sludge, Doom, and Stoner metal, and this little documentary was pretty good -

Lots of stuff about Sleep, St. Vitus, etc...... It's good stuff.

Never much liked the image thing with black. Some of the music was very inspired, but the movement as a whole reminded me of the 80s glam. Heavy makeup and pulling faces for the camera... but being eeevil

Yeah, I can listen to some Black Metal like Behemoth, Burzum, and a few others, but as I get older I like my metal more bassy, bluesy, and slower.

Huge death metal fan. I generally lean towards more 'muddy' death like Portal, Incantantion, Father Befouled, Encoffination, Dead Congregation, etc..
But when I'm lifting, I like brutal/tech/slam:
