i've injected water-based stuff with a 22g and it was rather unpleasant...

When I first saw a 23, I thought holy shit this is going to hurt, I had the 1 inch ones and it didn't hurt a bit. I then got the 1 1/2 and though fuck me these are long but liked it better. I then tried 25's, 27's, slin pins and felt they caused lumps, the gear didn't feel like it went in right, pushing so hard to get it out. It was a pain. I went back to 1 1/2" 23's and love them. Easiest way to inject.

depends on the sauce. i get some stuff that i can pull up relatively easily with a 29g insulin needle. love it. other stuff is just too thick. what matters is the diluent.
IM is 21 to 25 though (by the book).

I use insulin syringes for most of my IM shots. Never had any issue with lumps and I have used them at different levels of bodyfat. Some oils are a bit slow to draw with and some you cant at all, just backload if thats the case with a 23 gauge.

For most sites such as delts, pecs, tris and the few times I have hit bis, 25g 5/8" have been perfect. I actually have been using 25g 5/8" on my quads too and that has been going great, as well.

Not at all. I would guess it takes me 30-60 seconds to inject but I am perfectly fine taking a little bit longer in trade off for even a chance of reducing scar tissue with smaller needles.

Either 22 or 23 gauge. Never tried anything higher. For ED IM - the 25 gauge + is the way to go. At times, it does get a little painful.

Same here - try your local pharmacy first. I get 100 syringe+needle for less than $20
