After coming very close to offin myself several times I often wondered later whether I had the balls to keep living or I just didn't have the balls to do it. Going through that kind of depression definitely made me a lot more mentally stronger.

Thats the key I think.  You have to be either terminally ill/ tremendous pain, or mentally ill (severe depression) Normal people don't kill themselves.

This guy that I used to work with (strip ) committed suicide about 5 month ago .

My brother is a paramedic.

Most suicides by hanging the victim is found with scratches all over their neck and often broken fingers as they try to get out of the noose once the realisation of what they done hits them.

Most people hang themselves to kill themselves in Belfast.

1. depression is a bitch, but there is help via medication etc.
2. when prolonged living is prolonged dying, then its ok to kill yourself
3. RARELY are things so serious that you should to kill yourself.

I would guess shotgun to the face/magnum to the temple, would be the surest ways.  Even then people have been known to survive.
