The Olympics. Why does anyone give a fuck anymore?

it's about medal counts. It has gotten to the which nation is better. It used to be the US vs. Russia vs. east Germany, then US vs the world, now it's US vs China vs Russia, with China reppin' the E. German angle.
It's about power plays---generally the ones with the most medals, especially golds is seen as a superpower.
China has said back in the early 2000s that they couldn't beat the blacks, and if you look at their strategy, they focus on more obscure and individual sports, plus gymnastics---which the Russians focus on as well...Swimming, diving...
All that nobody gives a shit. Everybody watches the Summer Olympics for the track and field events (and basketball) that's all that matters.

It's funny you say that.  I can honestly say that I have never watched a live bodybuilding show.  Of course I see the contest pics etc.. on here.  I do own a few training vids though.  A couple battle for the olympias, a Ronnie Coleman dvd, and a Sean Ray dvd.  Those dvds mostly just show them training in the gym.  I would think it would be a little gay to watch an entire broadcast of men in thongs.

It just amazes me at the money, time and effort spent in hosting these games (which lead to Greece's downfall) to being in them.  Who the fuck cares?  So what your country won 5 gold medals.  Who really cares 1 week after the games are done?  That China thread that shows kids from 3 years old being trained to be in the Olympics is just moronic. What does China really get out of it?  For all the money they put in what is the actual payoff?  A medal?  They would be better off training these minds to do something that will make the country better than just having someone capable of doing a triple flip into water without making a splash.

Do anyone of you cares really care about the Olympics when the Olympics are not actually on?
