It was announced last week that a sequel to Twins was on the way, with stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito both returning. The movie, titled Triplets, will unveil the unlikeliest third brother... Eddie Murphy.
During a set visit a few months back for his upcoming film Last Stand, IGN and several other outlets including Coming Soon, got the chance to sit down and chat with the former Governor. And, inevitably, the idea of doing a Twins sequel came up.
"I would love to do another 'Twins,'" Schwarzenegger said at the time, shortly after he admitted that, of all his films, Twins was probably his favorite. "As a matter of fact, we've been talking about doing one and it's called 'Triplets.' I'd find somebody like Eddie Murphy or someone that people would say, 'How does that happen, medically speaking?' and, 'Physically, there's no way!' Then, somehow, we would explain it. That would be hilarious with what we know about someone like him."
"I can see a poster, a billboard with us three. 'They found another one!' 'Triplets!' 'Only their mother can tell them apart!'," the actor joked. "I would do that in two seconds, because that's real entertainment. You come out with that movie for Christmas, like December 5th or something like that, and you're home free."
Triplets is currently seeking writers, as well as a director. The first film's original director, Ivan Reitman, is attached to the project, but only as producer. Which filmmaker do you think would best fit for the project? Someone like Jake Kasdan or perhaps Ivan's son, Jason Reitman? And, of all Arnold's films, which one would you most like to see a sequel to? Sound off in the Comments below!
