It was 2 weeks before it started to get any attention.  Anyone who did report on it knew the shooter was white yet nothing was becoming of it.

You honestly believe that if it had been a black guy who shot Trayvon that the story would have taken off like this?  Even with the 911 tapes, which it seems were drastically edited by the news media, I don't think so.  The media is who created the "racial" angle to try to grab ratings.  As the article posted originally shows, the other killings were just as tragic, but no outrage or marches for any of those people.  Why?

C'mon, its obvious the media is portraying the Trayvon case as a murder, just like the ones mentioned in the article.  Yet there was no media circus, no outrage, no messages from the President, etc... in those cases.  Why?

We're they?  How so? Where did you get the idea that they were heavily edited?  Lemme guess:  a completely non biased, non opinionated, neutral, objective source?  Have you listened to the tapes yourself?  I have.

It wasn't the editing.  It was a guy repeatedly screaming for help and then hearing a loud gun shot.  When people found out it was a white guy who wasn't charged (and there may be legit reasns why, as skip posted which i havent read through) it became a national story.

The pressed swarmed on it like liberals at a government hand out or 33333333 at a liberal book burning.

I'm not talking about the screaming, I'm talking about the exchange between Zimmerman and the 911 operator.  NBC news decided to edit out much of what was said according to Hannity.....yeah, I know, but we will see as it unfolds.......and the entire exchange came across very differently with the 911 operator asking him what the guy looked like and even asking his race, to which Zimmerman replied.  I still think the main reasons it became such a big deal were more about the races of those involved and to a lesser extent the age of Trayvon.
