Been practising Choy Li Fut kung fu since 1978 - fought in open full contact tournaments in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines in 1991/1992, been learning Tai Chi since 1988, have about 4 years of Southern Mantis mixed in along the way. I am very good friends with Patrick McCarthy who I have also done a little training with.
I don't know how to grapple, I am not the worlds best fighter, nor the toughest badass on the planet, I would have liked to have done MMA had it been around when i was younger. I know I can knock people out and I know which (few) techniques I can do it with with reasonable certainty. I know how it feels to be knocked out, choked out and spiked onto the floor. I practise because I enjoy it but don't teach anymore. I spend more time teaching Japanese taiko drumming these days.
