640 hp, 600 torques, of course that's what "they say", it could be a whole lot more.

it's the torque that makes that truly crazy.  it'll pull from idle to 6000 rpm. couldn't imagine what that would be like to drive.

640BHP and 600FT/LB most of any naturally aspirated motor around.

ya, definately would have a different feel than something supercharged.  the difference between very quick and very fast.

probably a couple in each seat.  lol, still no drink holders.
Lol, it has a cubbyhole---chances are you can fit cup holders in it

And it's about 100 pounds lighter than last generation...

Viper is and always will be a true BEAST. A throwback to the old days of a big engine and a pedal, and you as the traction control. The car has only been in production for around 20 years, and has an iconic status already. Awesome f-ing car 8) Black on Yellow Bumblebee, 2002 GTS, 1 of 37  ;)

same year as mine, but mine is graphite grey with silver.  iconic for sure, i drive down the road and people video tape it, i come out of the store and there are people taking pictures.  actually weird how much attention they draw.   you can buy a used GTS for less than a new SUV.

I like your color a lot. The black ones with graphite stripes and cognac interior from 2002 are awesome as well. They do draw a bunch of attention. I would imagine put a Gen 2 Viper side by side with a new ZR1 Vette, and the dated Viper will still have many more fans than the Vette. I'd like to buy a 2009 Black Gen 3 ACR with the single red stripe down the hood. That style looks truly evil, its still pretty hard to find though

Not gonna lie..

As much as I love the Viper though...

I would still take a Corvette over it - even though everyone and their grand mothers drives one!

Don't get me wrong these cars are crazy fast but how the hell do u guys live with the shitty build quality and for the most part crappy steering feel which feels numb and lifeless?? ::)

Give me a Porsche gt3 or BMW M car anyday. Those are real overall cars, first class chasis engineering and some of the finest from Europe. Americans just know big motors that's it! Andif I want to cruise S Class
Mercedes 8)

And that is what this generation is going to correct...
There is a reason why there was input from Ferrari and Maserati about build quality and quality materials used in the interior.

This car, in it's original conception was supposed to be the embodiment of the Shelby Cobra---itself--a big engine and a lightweight chassis. It was pushed fwd by Bob Lutz--the man responsible for the ZR1, the 2nd gen CTS-V (The Cadillac resurgence altogether), and the Chevy VOLT, amony many other cars

since it's debut in 1992, the Viper has always been my dream car. whenever I see one in the street, it always get my attention.....till this day, I rarely see Vipers in the street......I'll see 10 vettes in one day and Probably see 1 viper for an entire year........it's a privilege to own one, they even have a Great Viper clubs where owners meet and show off their toys........I'm so glag this Great american sports car did not extinct Like many people said it was going to.......it looks like the front has been redesign a bit and it looks good, but the rear remain slighly the same..........as for it's competition, I remember back in the day, they had 3 beast on a track, the ZR1, the Porsche 911 turbo, and the Hennesey Venom......the viper had the 911 from 0-60, but the turbo being much lighter, ended up pulling ahead.......I'm waiting to see how this new generation of Vipers will do against the new ZR1, 911........

man they messed the headlight up big time

just looks like a cheaper more plastic version of a Ferrari 599 series

best viper model looks wise is still the 1st model, actually looks like a viper

I don't think the redesign is that bad. I still love the first generation look, but the new look still keeps the viper signature

yes, still this day, the 92' viper model is still Grabbing attention everywhere......that style was so unique, the car is wide and flat and I love those side exhaust pipes too.....the only thing that never changes is the fuel economy......lol......ge t ready to spend money on gas, but I wouldn't make any viper my daily commute. it would be a weekend and special occasion ride

That's why you buy a beater and make that your daily driver. Save the Viper for nice drives or when you wanna impress coworkers. They only run premium though and mine averages 12-13 MPG. Hence the beater as a daily driver.
