Very sad news. Musclemag crew hung around alot when i was Mohammed Makkawys training partner for his 83 and 84 Olympia runs and Gladys Portuguese 84 Olympia prep. Bob was the BIGGEST bodybuilding fan ever. His magazines "Annuals" covered all contests regardless of political affiliation and had the best photos always....
^^
Agreed, those ANNUALS were "The BEST".  I've got the 1980 and 1981 editions, keep them in plastic covers.  I don't know WHY he stopped making them as I'm sure he knew they were a huge favorite...

Not seeing Robert Kennedy at the Arnold this year, and not having him there for the first time ever to received his Lifetime Achievement Award was sad.  Tosca did receive it for him, but exactly what Robert is suffering from is kept quiet, out of respect for family.

Cancer it is, and per Tosca's tweets, it is not looking good.   However, she did tweet today

"We have been blessed with another day. I am grateful"

Robert is an icon - one of the originals , 30+ years in the industry, 6 magazines, countless books, and one of the 4 main publishers of the time (Joe Weider, Steve Blechman, John Bailik the other three).   I myself have at least 100+ MuscleMags in my collection.

2yrs ago at the Arnold, I bought one of his bodybuilding book and he signed for me....it was my first time meeting him face to face....Dude was nice......

I'm very glad Arnold visited. Bob did so much for him early on in his career in North America. Always played him up (MMI's monthly Arnold feature, etc.).

Yes that was the first pages I would read, then everything, Musclemag, late 90's was second to none I also enjoyed the Zulak uncensored, goods stuff, now it's all advertings.

 RIP Bob
