WOW... what the hell is he thinking? True or not, he cannot admit this. He can't argue he'll be better on terror than obama. He can't argue he's more experienced. And now his best attack for 2012 is "the economy is coming back under obama... but... I can do it even faster?"

With signs the country is emerging from its economic slump, Mitt Romney has begun to blame President Obama for making it far worse than it would have been under a Romney presidency.

“I believe the economy’s coming back, by the way,” he said on Monday. “We’ll see what happens. It’s had ups and downs. I think it’s finally coming back. economy always comes back after recession, of course. There’s never been one that we didn’t recover from.”

Is the soon-to-be GOP nominee (who claims to be the economic candidate) wrong here? If so, he's ignorant beyond belief.

Or, is he correct? in which case admitting this is the stupidest possible thing to do.

I dont see any way he doesn't look stupid on this statement and really undermine his own judgement. If things are getting better under obama - and yes, mittens admits it - then why in the world do we want to change things?

Don't know, all I know is Mitt seems like a total idiot at times with some of the things he says. But hell, Lou Dobbs said it a few months ago. I see OB gaining more and more strength this year. It's funny because last year, if you asked any of the conservative gang on GB about OB's chances in november they all pretty much said it was a certainty that oB was a 1 term show.

It's has got to be a nightmare for them now.

He said "I believe the economy’s coming back". Maybe he shoudl have clarified. But he did not. If YOU decide he meant SOME of it - can you estimate what %? Of course not. Romney, the self-proclaimed economic expert, says the economy is coming back. period. He didn't say "A few parts" or "some".

I just don't get it. He claims to be an expert on the economy - but he said "it's finally coming back".

He doesn't say some of it, parts of it... he says it's coming back. Under Obama. Which really undermines his own position that obama can't fix things. it tells us he says "yes, it's getting better under obama, but I wanna do something completely opposite that I think will work faster".

if the economy is based a great deal on CONFIDENCE.... then isn't the perception reality?

If a girl thinks she's horny, she's horny.

If people believe it's back, they will invest, spend, and do all the things which lead to a recovery. If obama has ONLY done one thing - and that thing is reverse that lack of confidence that bush left - then it's a win, right? Prez' job is to cheerlead. If even the top Repub is saying obama was successful in cheerleading the confidence needed for a perceived recovery... gulp.

In some cases maybe, but not in the cases when the people literally have no money to spend. Obama hasnt reversed shit - perception in this case is the general public - not the business' that run the economy. The average person hears on the news everyday how things are getting better - they think they are. But the business' arent hiring still - because they know its no better out there.
