Seen him at the Olympia Expo - can't remember his name but he was participating in an MMA demonstration.

Remember reading somewhere a while back that he had given up steroid use and now speaks out against using drugs altogether.

He fought back in 2008-2009 time frame. lost by KO first round. There were clips way back on his Pro Wrestling / MMA myspace page back then,.  Mike was a very cool dude way back then and somewhere in a n old article he discussed his cycle along with Ed Coans and so on.  Plus if anyone remembers or cares he made a short appearance with Mickey Rourke in the movie The Wrestler.

in bays thread, the interview that bb posted, he says he was 440lb at on point  :o

i don't recall him in the wrestler..  unless he was that guy selling him the gear in the locker room ? i though he was a different person though. and if i recall correctly, now dead  ???

That squat was passed, but ol' Mike was so embarrassed upon seeing it in playback, he called the officials and asked for it to be taken off the federation's record books. Good move. That squat is HIGH.

Guy's a lot smaller now and, yes, he preaches anti-drugs.  ::)

He is definitely NOT amongst the greatest powerlifters of all time. In his case, all the gear, drugs and loose technical rules in his federations allowed him to post well above his true strength. Case in point: his deadlift was, what, 650?
