I was referring to potential for intelligence. Physically, there is no question at all about genetics. Of course, the same could then be said about intelligence....as our strengths and weakness are inherited from our ancestors. So generally speaking, it is possible that some groups might have a higher threshold perhaps due to heredity.....but individually there will always be smart people from all races. My point was that the overriding factor for failed states in Africa is possibly more due to cultural characteristics of not only the leadership but also much of their population. People don't need to be geniuses and inventors or even that smart to run a country.....they just need common-sense and be willing to listen to and follow advice from experts and professionals. This is why I say the problem is more cultural. |

Yes, imagine if no European ever visited Africa at all.
Let's say they found ALL the resources they needed (oil, ore, ivory, diamonds etc) in other areas such as SouthAmerica/Australia and left Africa alone, not even a visit during the 16th, 17th,18th,19th and 20th century... until today.
They would not have invented any Television or similar, they would be secluded to the outside world.
It's thanks to European/American influence that they got cars early 1900.
