Hey all you movies lovers, like Stuntmovie:

On Thursday (4/19), Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is showing Muscle Beach Party at 10 pm ET/7 pm PT.

Some highlights of this crazy movie are the song "Muscle Bustle," a very young Stevie Wonder (he's not the one who sings "Muscle Bustle"), and Larry Scott as one of the beach bodybuilders. If you've never seen this movie and are into bodybuilding, I think it's a must see. It's not great, but it's fun.

i heard bill pearl was asked to be one of the musclemen in movie but turned it down because peter lupis won the contest and pearl refused to lose. so he made this drek instead with arthur jones. voodoo swamp

This is fascinating. I've never heard of this film, and I had no idea Bill Pearl made a movie. Did he make any others?

The movie was an embarrassment for all concerned.

Apparently, one of the musclemen objected to big Steve Merjanian being in the movie saying he wasn't a bodybuilder. Well, in those days if a part came up the guys all auditioned. Big Steve told the objector that he was going to be in the movie and the objection disappeared.

Another story about Steve happened in LA on the freeway. Some young guys yelled at him that he was fat! Steve followed their car to a parking lot and then got out and went over to their car. He reached in and broke the steering wheel and handed it to the driver, saying, "Watch who you call fat!"

only film that i know of, probably the worst film i've ever seen. the editing look like it was done by a mental case, seriousely. art jones should have done a better job esp consideriong his animal shows on tv. lucky he had the nautilis equipment co to fall back on.
