He is a brilliant man.  As was Bush.  Clinton was VERY smart.  Bush1 was pretty damn wise too.  Reagan was smart but very shrewd.  Even cater, misguided, was very intelligent.  They don't give the presidency to a person with an 80 IQ.

It's easy for repubs to say "he's dumb!" but its more effective to say "he's a highly competent opponent in the 2012 race, and his policies will hurt our nation for decades to come.  Let's list the policies Mitt will enact to correct our course"

OP missing the academic semantics of 'professor.' To most people, standing in front of a university class earns the moniker 'professor,' or 'prof.' Within the the academic community though, and with regards towards tenure track positions, you have adjunct, then associate and, finally, (full) professor. There are a few other types, but not worth mentioning in this instance. To get a professorship, special cases aside, takes years and years of departmental service and a solid and serious record of publishing.
