Is there a way to surf the net without the usual google chrome, msn explorer, fire fox etc? Just open a blank web without a corporate string attached to it, and then surf then net.

I am thinking this is a negative. Im assuming you would need to connect to a browser to search the internet.

You can stripe chrome down to search box practically. No ad links, No pops, No nothing.

Did you guys just realize how we're being controlled even though we think we're not? We have to use a web browser in order to connect to the internet. And then it goes down the hill from there, we have to pay for an internet provider, etc etc.

Either way we HAVE to use a browser by a corporate to connect to the "free" internet. What a cliche, "free". And lo and behold the gov't doesn't watch all our IP's with our searches either, sure.

Well - you can try reading HTML if you like but most people like to see it presented in a browser.

No-one is forcing you to do anything.

You can try watching Cable signals without a TV too if you like. Again, I doubt you'll get as much out of it.

telnet www.getbig.com 80
GET / HTTP/1.0

And let the joy of web browsing begin! It might not be as full-featured as you're used to, but I'm sure you can work around that eventually. After you get familiar with things you can even get a cookie jar to keep cookies in!

from a technical point of view, the pentagon do have a direct access to the Internet (w/o any Internet provider or web browser). Maybe you can apply for a job there?

He's right.  Then the companies save all of your searches until the end of time.  Sell info and make billions, turn it over to the cops if you get accused of a crime so they can try to some flimsy connection and us it as "evidence".  You have no choice.  You either play by their rules or you go without internetand other such technical advances.    F**k all these guys.
Come at me Bro!

why not just move to country that won't hand your info to USA or at least keeps them out of your door ???

It's not rocket science.
