April 30, 2012

President Obama joked it up again this year at the White House Correspondents’ dinner. And he killed again this year. It’s just that this year he didn’t also kill Osama bin Laden. I can’t imagine Mitt Romney doing the White House Correspondents’ dinner and getting any laughs if he was president. For one thing, if Mitt Romney was president, nobody would ever laugh again. Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum were both at the dinner. These events don’t need security as much as they need a bouncer who knows who’s on the “A” list and who isn’t.

It’s been almost a year since Osama bin Laden was killed, along any chance the Republicans had to run on national security. There have been five stages in the Republican reaction to Osama bin Laden’s death. And yes, they are essentially five stages of grief, because for Republicans, Osama bin Laden’s death was a traumatic event.

Mitt Romney has some advice for young people starting out—just borrow money from your parents! No word on what to do if your parents don’t have a lot of money—I don’t think Mitt is aware that situation exists. Mitt told the story of a friend who started his own business with money he borrowed from his parents. At least this is a friend of Mitt’s who doesn’t already own a football team or a NASCAR crew. Any friend of Mitt who has to start his own business with his parents’ money—as opposed to be being born with several business—sounds like the least rich person that Mitt Romney knows.

If Republicans can’t get enough votes, their only strategy is to make sure that the Democrats get even fewer votes. Republicans are using voter ID laws to disenfranchise poor and minority voters. They’ve done everything but require that voters need to show ID in the form of a country club membership. The changing demographics favor Democrats. So as demographics are changing, Republicans are changing the laws. Republicans can’t make more white people, but they can prevent more non-white people from voting. The Republican ideal is “one person, one vote.” I think that’s their ultimate goal, too—just one person voting, as long as that one person is a Republican.

New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, Socialism (FORWARD!)
WashTimes ^ | April 30, 2012 | Victor Mortan
Posted on April 30, 2012 9:22:48 PM EDT by tcrlaf

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."

"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.

The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

Like Romney is going to help anyone.  Guy is a fucking scheister.

This post right here^^^^ sums up exactly everything that is wrong in America 100%. How or why people think any president or government in general is supposed to help them, this is the problem. This is what takes away from liberty, this is what's costing us an unsustainable amount of money, and regardless of who's president if it continues we will collapse.

It's entitlement, apathy and complacency. That's the problem, and the above post states and shows it perfectly.

Romney is better than Obama all day long, but Ronald McDonald and the Hamburglar would be better than Obama. Still, I don't see Romney being the total answer either. The only way the U.S. will ever get back on track will take a president and congress that is initially hated beyond anything we've seen so far. It'll take a president who does not care about anything but the country, not the people but the country...there's a difference. The things that would need to be done would piss off so many people he would end up being a president with about 3% approval rating...the only ones approving being the 3% in the U.S. who still understand what the U.S. is supposed to be.

To be frank, a pile of mollusks would be better than Obama in the sense that inaction is better than the wrong action. But so what? You'd seriously cast your vote for a pile of mollusks? (This is mostly a rhetorical question; I'm pretty certain that you and a few others would, if for no other reason because you feel a certain intellectual kinship with bivalves.)

And how would putting Romney into the White House change anything? You'd be replacing shit with shit; the only difference would be the Bristol scale rating of the outgoing and incoming biomass.

Besides, I've yet to see anyone offer a cogent argument on why exactly the person sitting in the Oval Office matters vis-à-vis policies - especially in the sphere of economics. He's beholden to Congress to pass laws in general and pass budgets in particular.

Discounting the somewhat broad military powers (some of which rely on standing authorizations that Congress has passed), the President has - powers which are not unlimited and are subject to checks and balances - the President has very little actual powers that Congress can't curtail.

Obama Is Headed Anywhere but Forward

You have to hand it to President Obama and his cabal of re-election strategists; they are masters of illusion. Their newly released Web video and its accompanying campaign slogan, "Forward," are science fiction-level fantastical.

We're all familiar with Obama's penchant for deflecting responsibility and blaming his policy failures on George W. Bush, but after more than three years in office for Obama, it has gone from childish mischief to juvenile delinquency. This is a question for Guinness: Has any other president run for re-election against the record of his retired predecessor?

Indeed, Obama is still feeding us this dodge years beyond its spoil date, apparently hoping we won't realize we have salmonella until he's safely voted in to his second term.

Watch the video. In the words of The Hill's John Easley, "it blames GOP policies for the still-sluggish economy."

It attempts to draw a clear dichotomy between the dark days of the last year of Bush's term and the glorious remedial reign of President Obama, which began in January 2009.

The first period is depicted as one of excessive job losses, the housing and foreclosure crisis, the stock market free fall, and the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, with ominous images of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, the sinister masterminds of these disasters, strategically placed throughout, for maximum effect.

The second period begins with the inauguration of President Obama, underscoring his heroic agenda -- the one Obama has cited in placing himself among the greatest American presidents -- the stimulus, the GM and Chrysler bailouts, financial reform, the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell," bringing the Iraq War to a close and, of course, the killing of Osama bin Laden. Before the video ends, the video dutifully boasts about Obama's signature "accomplishment," Obamacare, going so far as to include the controversial birth control mandate in his plus column. Likewise with his green energy policies.

According to the video, the most polarizing chief executive in the history of the American presidency is not the cause of our current dreadful economic conditions, about which, in any event, the White House is mostly in denial, as we'll see. Nor is Obama to blame for our nearly unprecedented partisan acrimony. No, the root of our problems is obstructionist GOP Republicans, who -- along with their evil media mouthpieces Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck -- "instead of working together to lift America up ... (have waged) a campaign to tear the president down."

But despite the pernicious efforts of the GOP and its loudmouth conservative co-conspirators to thwart President Obama's salutary agenda, Obama has persevered and triumphed. That's right; his record is not one of failure but one of extraordinary achievement against this right-wing hydra and the multifaceted adversity it has hurled at him.

In fact, the White House would have us believe the economy is doing pretty well. "The president's stimulus plan saved up to 4.2 million jobs" and has given us steady economic growth, and the manufacturing sector is going gangbusters.

What this little clip doesn't tell you -- apart from the meaningless and immeasurable metric of "saved jobs," which has now been further diluted to the ludicrous rendering "saved up to" -- is how much these possibly or possibly not saved jobs cost the American taxpayer. It doesn't reveal Obama's miserable record in creating new private-sector jobs or that overall, he has delivered us a net loss of millions of jobs and unemployment at levels consistently 60 percent higher than what economists consider normal.

It doesn't report that taxpayers lost billions on his vaunted auto bailouts or that through his abuses of power, secured creditors were literally cheated out of their money.

The video conveniently fails to mention that Obama has rightfully earned his nickname "The Food Stamp President" with the objectively measurable skyrocketing increases in government dependency payouts during his term, a great portion of which cannot be blamed on the recession, which his policies grossly worsened anyway. It doesn't disclose that Obamacare will cost nearly twice what Obama promised or that Dodd-Frank is likely to exacerbate the very problems it is ostensibly designed to prevent.

The video casually glosses over Obama's real record on green jobs, the wasted billions and the shameless corporatist corruption. It doesn't showcase his gutting of the military or his plans for radical nuclear disarmament.

But the most gaping hole in this propaganda piece is its glaring omission of the debt crisis Obama has engineered, his abdication of leadership in failing to pressure his party's Senate majority to produce a budget -- even a phony, superficial one -- in more than 1,000 days, and his egregious refusal to work on entitlement reform and balancing the budget.

Team Obama is gifted in community organizing, but not even these wizards can re-create reality to make Obama's record appear anywhere north of calamitous failure. This "progressive" president is headed anywhere but forward.

"Swiss Bank Account" highlights Mitt Romney's belief that a strong economy is built on outsourcing, loopholes and risky financial deals. As a corporate CEO, he shipped American jobs to places like Mexico and China. As governor, Romney outsourced state jobs to India, and now as a candidate for president he is pushing tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.

Romney's economic scheme stands in stark contrast with President Obama's efforts to continue moving the country forward by rebuilding an economy that's meant to last, by out-building, out-innovating and out-educating the rest of the world, and making the things the rest of the world buys by closing loopholes and providing incentives that are bringing jobs back to America.

Why we MUST re-elect president Obama.  ;)

The video outlines the challenges America faced as President Obama took office at the height of the worst recession in almost a century and details the progress that has been made reclaiming the security of the middle class and building an economy that's meant to last, where hard work pays and responsibility is rewarded.

There are several in the GOP who probably deserve to be in jail...several more on the other side of the aisle too for giving out the entitlements that have destroyed the financial security or the country as well as its sense of dignity.

There are rotten apples on both sides of the aisle, but not every apple is rotten. You and your ilk are the reason why this country is in the bind it's in: because of hyper-partisan invective, blame-shifting, intentional blindness and naive black-or-white approach to the world. Fuck you and fuck the penis you rode in on.

Obama is a failure: he didn't clean up the GOP mess fast enough!  >:(

It's hard for anyone that's honest to argue that Obama isn't a failure – in some areas, more than others – and not just because of the mess that he was left with and which he failed to clean up. I had no strong feelings one way or the other about Obama in 2008 (except that he was certainly not very experienced in politics, which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but he gave me the distinct impression he was... shall we say... akin to an empty mussel. With 2012 hindsight, I know that it wasn't just my impression: the mussel was empty to begin with.

The GOP "mess" came the in the last few months of GWB's presidency.

Oh come now. We owe it to ourselves to be objective and rational. Anyone that says that the last 5 years of the George W. Bush administration were anything other than an unmitigated slow-motion disaster is either stupid or flat-out lying. And, let's be honest... late 2005 to 2008 was a clusterfuck.

That's not to say that it was purely President Bush's fault, although he shoulders a lot of the blame, as the head of the Executive Branch. Congress has a large share of the burden too. And, of course, let's not forget ourselves: because ultimately, we were the idiots who voted these people into power, and kept them in power while doing whatever the hell it was that they were doing up in D.C. on our behalf.

The problem isn't partisanship qua partisanship. The problem is hyper-partisanship, fueled by vitriolic invective by highly paid pundit-patriots. The problem is people who let blogs and talk radio do the thinking and parrot what they've been told. The problem is the notion that truth is the exclusive domain of one party while evil is the exclusive domain of the other.

Sadly, these are problems that will always be with us. And our Republic - and we - will suffer because of them.

25 Horrible Statistics About The U.S. Economy That Barack Obama Does Not Want You To Know .
Monday, 30 April 2012 07:17 American Dream

The human capacity for self-delusion truly is remarkable.  Most people out there end up believing exactly what they want to believe even when the truth is staring them right in the face.  Take the U.S. economy for example.  Barack Obama wants to believe that his policies have worked and that the U.S. economy is improving.  So that is what he is telling the American people.  The mainstream media wants to believe that Barack Obama is a good president and that his policies make sense and so they are reporting that we are experiencing an economic recovery.  A very large segment of the U.S. population still fully supports Barack Obama and they want to believe that the economy is getting better so they are buying the propaganda that the mainstream media is feeding them.  But is the U.S. economy really improving?  The truth is that it is not.

» If you like this article, please subscribe to Right Side News Daily

The rate of employment among working age Americans is exactly where it was two years ago and household incomes have actually gone down while Obama has been president.  Home ownership levels and home prices continue to decline.  Meanwhile, food and gasoline continue to become even more expensive.  The percentage of Americans that are dependent on the government is at an all-time record high and the U.S. national debt has risen by more than 5 trillion dollars under Obama.  We simply have not seen the type of economic recovery that we have seen after every other economic recession since World War II.

The horrible statistics about the U.S. economy that you are about to read are not talked about much by the mainstream media.  They would rather be "positive" and "upbeat" about the direction that things are headed.

But lying to the American people is not going to help them.  If you are speeding in a car toward a 500 foot cliff, you don't need someone to cheer you on.  Instead, you need someone to slam on the brakes.

The cold, hard reality of the matter is that the U.S. economy is in far worse shape than it was four or five years ago.

We have never come close to recovering from the last recession and another one will be here soon.

The following are 25 horrible statistics about the U.S. economy that Barack Obama does not want you to know....

#1 The percentage of Americans that own homes is dropping rapidly.  According to Gallup, the current level of homeownership in the United States is the lowest that Gallup has ever measured.

#2 Home prices in the U.S. continue to fall like a rock as well.  They have declined for six months in a row and are now down a total of 35 percent from the peak of the housing bubble.  The last time that home prices in the United States were this low was back in 2002.

#3 Last year, an astounding 53 percent of all U.S. college graduates under the age of 25 were either unemployed or underemployed.

#4 Back in 2007, about 10 percent of all unemployed Americans had been out of work for 52 weeks or longer.  Today, that number is above 30 percent.

#5 When Barack Obama first became president, the number of "long-term unemployed workers" in the United States was 2.6 million.  Today, it is 5.3 million.

#6 The average duration of unemployment in the United States is about three times as long as it was back in the year 2000.

#7 Despite what the mainstream media would have us to believe, the truth is that the percentage of working age Americans that are employed is not increasing.  Back in March 2010, 58.5 percent of all working age Americans were employed.  In March 2011, 58.5 percent of all working age Americans were employed. In March 2012, 58.5 percent of all working age Americans were employed.  So how can Barack Obama and the mainstream media claim that the employment situation in the United States is getting better?  The employment rate is still essentially exactly where it was when the last recession supposedly ended.

#8 Back in 1950, more than 80 percent of all men in the United States had jobs.  Today, less than 65 percent of all men in the United States have jobs.

#9 In 1962, 28 percent of all jobs in America were manufacturing jobs.  In 2011, only 9 percent of all jobs in America were manufacturing jobs.

#10 In some areas of Detroit, Michigan you can buy a three bedroom home for just $500.

#11 According to one recent survey, approximately one-third of all Americans are not paying their bills on time at this point.

#12 Since Barack Obama entered the White House, the price of gasoline has risen by more than 100 percent.

#13 The student loan debt bubble continues to expand at a very frightening pace.  Recently it was announced that total student loan debt in the United States has passed the one trillion dollar mark.

#14 Incredibly, one out of every four jobs in the United States pays $10 an hour or less at this point.

#15 Household incomes all over the United States continue to fall.  After adjusting for inflation, median household income in America has declined by 7.8 percent since December 2007.

#16 Over the past several decades, government dependence has risen to unprecedented heights in the United States.  The following is how I described the explosive growth of social welfare benefits in one recent article....

Back in 1960, social welfare benefits made up approximately 10 percent of all salaries and wages.  In the year 2000, social welfare benefits made up approximately 21 percent of all salaries and wages.  Today, social welfare benefits make up approximately 35 percent of all salaries and wages.

#17 In November 2008, 30.8 million Americans were on food stamps.  Today, more than 46 million Americans are on food stamps.

#18 Right now, more than 25 percent of all American children are on food stamps.

#19 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, today 49 percent of all Americans live in a home that receives some form of benefits from the federal government.

#20 Over the next 75 years, Medicare is facing unfunded liabilities of more than 38 trillion dollars.  That comes to $328,404 for each and every household in the United States.

#21 During the first quarter of 2012, U.S. public debt rose by 359.1 billion dollars.  U.S. GDP only rose by 142.4 billion dollars.

#22 At this point, the U.S. national debt is rising by more than 2 million dollars every single minute.

#23 The U.S. national debt has risen by more than 5 trillion dollars since the day that Barack Obama first took office.  In a little more than 3 years Obama has added more to the national debt than the first 41 presidents combined.

#24 The Federal Reserve bought up approximately 61 percent of all government debt issued by the U.S. Treasury Department during 2011.

#25 The Federal Reserve continues to systematically destroy the value of the U.S. dollar.  Since 1970, the U.S. dollar has lost more than 83 percent of its value.

But the horrible economic statistics only tell part of the story.

In communities all over America there is a feeling that something fundamental has changed.  Businesses that have been around for generations are shutting their doors and there is a lot of fear in the air.  The following is a brief excerpt from a recent interview with Richard Yamarone, the senior economist at Bloomberg Brief....

You have to listen to what the small businesses are telling you and right now they are telling you, ‘Hey, I’m the head of a 3rd or 4th generation, 75 or 100 year old business, and I’ve got to shut the doors’ or ‘I’ve got to let people go. And if I’m hiring anybody back, it’s only on a temporary basis.’

Sometimes they do this through a hiring firm so that they can sidestep paying unemployment benefit insurance. So that’s what’s really going on at the grassroots level of the economy. Very, very, grossly different from what you’re seeing in some of these numbers coming out in earnings releases.”

All over the country, millions of hard working Americans are desperately looking for work.  They have been told that "the recession is over", but they are still finding it incredibly difficult to find anyone that will hire them.  The following example is from a recent CNN article....

Joann Cotton, a 54-year-old Columbus, Mississippi, resident, was one of those faces of poverty we met on the tour. Unemployed for three years, Joann has gone from making "$60,000 a year to less than $15,000 overnight." Her husband is disabled and dependent on medicines the couple can no longer afford. They rely on food stamps, which, Joann says, "is depressing as hell."

Receiving government aid, however, has not been as depressing as her job search. Joann says she has applied for at least 300 jobs. Even though she can barely afford gas, she drives to the interviews only to learn that the employers want to hire younger candidates at low wages.

The experiences have taken a toll: "I've aged 10 years in the three years that I've been looking for a job," Joann told us. "I want to get a job so I can just relax and exhale ... but I can't. After a while you just give up."

Meanwhile, Barack Obama and his family continue to live the high life at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer.

Even many Democrats are starting to get very upset about this.  The following is from a recent article by Paul Bedard....

Blue collar Democratic voters, stuck taking depressing “staycations” because they can’t afford gas and hotels, are resentful of the first family’s 17 lavish vacations around the world and don’t want their tax dollars paying for the Obamas’ holidays, according to a new analysis of swing voters.

It simply is not appropriate for the Obamas to be spending millions upon millions upon millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars on luxury vacations when so many Americans are deeply suffering.

But Barack Obama does not want you to know about any of this stuff.

He just wants you to buy his empty propaganda one more time so that he can continue to occupy the White House for another four years

SOURCE: American Dream

Little narrow-minded to think that ALL things political, economical, social and other have a life-span of 4 years or less just to accomodate elections of politicians.

Many of those problems are a results of past political and economical decisions and events.

Take this economical shit the west is in now.

One would be pretty dumb to think that the now ruling political dipshits are MAINLY responsible for it.

I am not pro or against Obama because I know the truth and who runs the society (those who have money). So I dont care at all who wins in the USA and I am not an american BUT its important to learn what is the cause of something and that most things have impact over decades and not just last 2-3 years
