How Coach rakes in so much money from something that looks like that is beyond me. In most parts of the world, a gym like that would fail within 2 months.

I guess Coach has a good marketing scheme. Plus, must be all the praying he is doing. Its quite obvious our Lord and Saviour is bring members to Coaches gym.

1. My marketing is mostly word of mouth.

2. What does it matter what the gym looks like as long as it's clean and has all of the necessities?

You're probably right. In the meantime you should start memorizing the words "welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order?"

There's a lot of loose talk about the coach making all kinds of money with this gym. It's been open one week. And from the looks of it, he was broke going intob yhis thing. Anybody here privy to the coach's income tax filings? Financial statements?

This business was already in operation, we just got a new facility and as I said in the very first thread I posted I said IT WAS NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. "Is anyone privy to the coaches income tax? financial statements? hahahaha. Lets just say i own every piece of equipment free and clear. LOL

Because most people do CARE about how a gym looks. I mean, maybe the people you train dont care. A gym like yours in many areas would fail, since most people are not into that type of training. The average person is NOT into flipping tires. You're catering to a very specific population. With such a small subset of people who like to flip tires, its baffling how you can make money off of a gym like that. but I guess if its broke, dont fix it.

We've seen JM Manion's NPO tax returns, so why can't we see your Corp's returns?

"LOL"? Something's funny? Where's the tangible evidence you're making a killing? Your circa 1998 website? Your converted Quik-Lube you call a gym? Ropes and tires?

Most people are used to seeing one kind of gym and thats all they know. Most people go to a gym for results. If people get results they can give a shit they way a gym looks. Doesn't matter if it's an athlete or a soccer mom. If they're more concerned about the way a gym looks than results then they deserve to go somewhere else. For the record, I can get just as good of results if not better than any big facility.

Thats the problem, most people go to a gym to socialize and are all not that serious about how they look. Youre assuming everyone is a hardcore lifter.  :-\ Most people arent.

he's not assuming anything- he's targeting a certain clientele--- people interested in improving their athletic performance. It's like complaining about why anyone would make a truck because most people buy regular cars.

I know he is, but if you read my posts, I stated that in most other places/areas his business would fail. Most other places, meaning areas where that sort of specialized training is not desired.

Yes, because they cater  to the average Joe, hence their success.

I mean, Coach could definitely make a good living, but places like LA Fitness are bringing in the big bucks because they cater to average people. Coach is focused on a specialized subset of people, which is definitely going to hinder the amount of people he could bring in. Which is fine, I guess as long as he could make a living, then who cares.

Not unbelievable, but most people would be quicker to join LA fitness.

I never said making a living was earning a set amount. Making a living, just meaning as long as he could pay his bills and live comfortably, etc.

He does have the power of Jesus on his side, which gives him in the upper hand!

Coach trains athletes, not bodybuilders, athletes are concerned with results, not wether or not they look pretty. I guess now we know what's wrong with your chest. ;)

Funny how most here don't realize that serious athletes are willing to shell out much more than the average gym membership per month if they are getting results. Put aside Coachs beliefs and anyone with half a brain can see he has been successful at what he's doing so he must be doing something right.
