Just wanted to share a basic recipe that I used when I started out & still use now if i'm out of protein.

Doesn't require a blender/whisk/jug etc just your regular shaker cup.

Homemade chocolate & peanut butter - egg & casein shake.

3 eggs (1 with yolk, 2 whites)
5 tablespoons of skimmed (low fat) milk powder
300ml of skimmed/low fat milk
3 teaspoons of reduced fat cocoa powder
3 teaspoons of ALDI granulated sweetner
1 teaspoon of low sugar or 'natural' peanut butter.

All the above ingredients are as cheap as hell, I buy the eggs from ALDI, as well as the milk, peanut butter and sweetener - the rest from TESCO's basic grocery range (milk powder & low fat cocoa) Whole lot costs me £6.50 for 15 shakes worth (about a weeks supply)

Directions:

Put all of the above in a shaker and shake like hell. Put in the fridge for 5 mins before consuming if you prefer. Tastes great - can't taste the raw egg at all.

Approx 45g of protein (almost exactly half casein/half egg albumien)
Approx 20g of carbs from milk & milk powder.
Approx 10g of fat from egg/cocoa/milk.

Altogether around 450 kcals of good food.

Yes, it's inexpensive but...

1. The raw eggs are potentially dangerous because of salmonella bacteria... it can kill you.
2. The lactose from the milk powder creates obnoxious farts that stink to the high heavens.

BBers need to quit being lazy and cook all their meals.  Chewing adds/creates enzymes that aid in digestion.  Human beings were not meant to "drink" meals.  After a tough workout you could use some easily digestable protein powder (ie. whey) and some glucose powder, but that's about it.

the new trend (one that's been blown out of proportion) seems to be people complaining of digestion in regards to whey supplements. This shake would leave one in worse condition digestion wise.

Lol guys, it's only a bloody shake 8)

British stamped eggs dont carry salmonella, and the casein surprisingly hasnt given me any gas at all - maybe as its mostly from powdered milk.

Anyway, it's a great tasting and CHEAP shake for anyone man enough to eat a raw egg, and smart enough to save cash lol.

most egg whites, carton stuff, is pasteurized and i use it instead of whey as i generally feel better without dairy in my diet. It's an option for those concerned about salmonella.
