I love the stuff. Its strange, sometimes I will walk into the kitchen and put a pinch of it in my mouth. Its REALLY great on finished desserts and Ice Cream.
It's actually been made in my town now for over 2000 years, maldon sea salt company has been making the stuff in the same way since the late 1800's - great stuff for finishing any food. Funny you mention dessert: This is from their site
"It’s just as delicious over sweet goods, especially as the sweet-meets-savory trend continues within bakeries. Salted caramels are almost always “salted” with Maldon, and chocolate treat like brownies, soufflés, and chocolate bars are most excellent with a flaking of Maldon."
I like to buy homemade 'kettle chips' a type of pan cooked potato chip and chuck a bunch of maldon on and watch the football. Good times.
