What would RP as VP or Treasury Secretary accomplish? Those positions are practically powerless. At least the Fed Chairman has some independent power. The other positions you mentioned are completely subordinate to the President, who is going to be a Massachusetts moderate.

I always knew Santorum was a giant douchebag hypocrite from day one.  Why couldn't all those other "tea partiers" that supported him figure that out?  People are so blind it is sickening.

santorum's lukewarm endorsement - an email in the middle of the night where he endorses him 9 paragraphs in after talking about his own beliefs - says it all.

He isn't onstage high fiving and hugging.  He's reluctantly retiring his campaign debt and holding his nose while endorsing out of party duty.
