I’m attending an out-of-state conference this summer, and I’m very limited as to what I can take with me. I have no idea, yet, if my room will even have a kitchen. I haven’t flown in a long time, either, so I'm not sure what kinds of issues I would have taking various supplements through airport security. I talked with a fellow gym member years ago who claimed to have gotten a bit of a hassle regarding his vanilla protein powder.

Anyway, I was thinking the easiest solution would be to just buy some drinks & bars once I get there. I’d still like to take a few nights’ worth of vitamins and liver tabs with me. Realistically, though, I could make it a few nights without.

Any experiences and/or suggestions?

TSA doesn't care about tabs so bring what you need.  I have one of those 7 day pill cases that I fill each time I take a trip.  I put protein powder in gallon bags so they don't need to open a tub.  Bars are good as well.  As long as it's not liquid they don't care or can't do anything about it.  If you are really worried, just check in your bag and bring your whole pantry.

What EDB said.  I've never had an issue.  Fish oils go in one container (any leftover small bottle) and everything else in one of those 7 day things.

Being the neat freak/germaphobe I am, I pack practically everything in separate ziplocks to avoid potential leakage (like from shampoo or mouthwash), to undies (in case TSA goes through the bag)(don't want them touching "my stuff").  Nothing small in the suitcase is "loose", in case TSA does go rummaging.  I don't want anything falling out onto the floor or something.  Shoes are in plastic shopping bags (keeps the dirt from the soles off everything else) I'm an expert packer IMO - nothing gets wrinkled and it's easy unpacking upon arrival.

You could also invest in these containerstore.com/shop/ but a little pricey when my method works great.  Remember 3-1-1
