Jay has the market cornered on hat douchebaggery.  Epic no mouthpiece.  Mus not be concerned with keeping cortisol levels down  ::) also, i hate how he is trying too damned hard to be gracious and hug heath and hurry up and hold his hand up.  He is trying so hard to seem fucking gracious and nice and shit.  It is an attempt to maintain upper hand over phil.  It is an attempt to show the world that jay is passing on his title, not that heath beat him.  He should be really upset that his synthil bicep problem was his last outing.  That really tarnishes his career.  And he will fucking sell anything.  Has no advertising credibilty at all. Alpha craplix wasted its money on jay the fridge gutler.

If that mouthpiece made him into such a great champion, you think he would be wearing it while he trains.  :-\

Ironically with that type of barbells you get a pump in your biceps not matter how light you train..

If your biceps are already big,  nice form and using these barbells are the way to get a full contraction.

He could be warming up with that weight. It could also be that he had his damaged bicep repaired and that is all he can use during the healing process.

I use to be a weight snob watching what others use but hell doing 5 sets of 12 to 15 reps with very short rests between sets will make the lightest weight seem heavy.

More excuses for a juiced up, lazy bodybuilder.

I bet you also agree with half reps to maintain constant tension.  ::) ::)

Nope, they do not.

Must be that Jay is maintaining constant tension, and has the perfect mind-muscle connection. Also, proper nutrient timing. I will make sure to tell the kids in the gym his secrets so they can get arms like Jay. Then again, would they really want arms like Jays? lol  :-X :-X

No, I believe in a full range of motion.  I don't do half squats or half leg presses claiming they are full range. I come all the way down when doing shoulder presses or inclines. I'm not making excuses and you're are right there are so many juiced bodybuilders that would look like they never trained if it wasn't for the chemical assist.

Look at pics from the 50-70s, you wont see that half rep crap or people grimacing with a 50 pound barbell like you do today.

The tension on the muscle is the only thing that matters, if you can get the same amount of tension using a lighter weight, you would be stupid for using the heavier weight. Unless of course you consider building your image through strength display a part of your goals.

A lot of good physiques have even been built without extra weight. Meanwhile you see twinks in every gym curling 150 pound barbells and other heroic feets of uselessness as far as hypertrophy is concerned.

Now of course (for people who aren't able to grasp the relativity of this all), some people will have to use some more weight, relatively speaking, to someone else who can generate stronger contractions using less weight.

I have been lifting weights for nearly 40 years. I have been in many a gym. I have seen what the work ethic is like now for the most part and it's sad. No one squats anymore or if they do it's really shallow. Incline barbell and dumbbell presses are really a short range of motion so they can grab the really big weights that in truth they couldn't handle doing it properly. Deadlifts are done from a cage off of pins because if it was on the floor they couldn't pick it up. The leg press is the biggest disgrace. Load a 1000 plus pounds and keep the back board upright and do little shallow knee bends.  What's with all the young men walking on a treadmill?  Lazy fucks.

The tension on the muscle drug injections is are the only thing that matters, if you can get the same amount of tension growth using a lighter weight a lot of drugs, you would be stupid for using the heavier weight. Unless of course you consider building your image through strength display a part of your goals.

A lot of good physiques have even been built without extra weight with a lot of drugs. Meanwhile you see twinks natural bodybuilders in every gym curling 150 pound barbells and other heroic feets of uselessness as far as hypertrophy is concerned actually working out hard and trying to build some muscle, instead of being lazy and just sticking boat loads of drugs into their bodies.

Now of course (for people who aren't able to grasp the relativity of this all), some people will have to use some more weight a lot more drugs to look like Jay, relatively speaking, to someone else who can generate stronger contractions using less weight maybe use a little less drugs, and still look like crap.

I fixed your post. Now it looks like the truth.

The drugs are a given to such a degree (and have been since so long already) we need never even talk about them anymore.

Let's assume Yates for instance was on the same amounts of the same drugs as Cutler, was he bigger than Cutler because of his heavier lower volume training?

There's plenty of these heavy training vs light training bodybuilders to be made.

The weight on the bar transferring to tension on the muscle is just too simplistic. One guy might be able to create the same amount of bicep tension using 10 lbs, while the guy next to him might need 30 lbs to achieve the same tension. It's all relative!

looks like he's having a hard time with the weight. why would you get photoed with such a puny poundage. he should be ashamed to be useing 50 lb dbs much less a barbell.

Let's turn this thing around:

Do any of you here think that a lighter training Cutler is generating less tension in his biceps than a heavier biceps training Yates? (or any two bodybuilders who differ in weights used)

If a direct measurement of muscular strength generated (which would have to an internal one vs an external one with poundage used) were to be done for each of them, I'm 100% sure they would be a lot closer together than the differing weights on the bar would make you believe.

Hence Cutler doing 50 lbs barbell curls might in practice be exposing the same load on his biceps as 100 lbs barbell curling Yates.
