Jan Tana - Tanning Coat too dark?

any bodybuilders from the late 90s here who had to use that fuckin jan tana shit stain? my first show I was 19 all prepped ready bto hit the stage. friday night apply 1st coat of jan tana diarehea and looked like i just got out of a coal mine. put more on and then i looked like a straighht up fucking idiot. we managed to smooth it in somewhat but fuck that stuff sucked..oh and the looks when you had to go to the show venue..what an embarassing hobby. thank god for pro tan.

Why do bodybuilders have to tan so dark, can't they just lighten the lights?

They can lighten or darken the tan, but some bodybuilders choose to make themselves way too dark.  That is a classic mistake, and had cost quite a few bodybuilders some placings.   You dont need to go so dark, just a good tan.

My first few shows we used tana as a base and dream tan #2, but they have banned a lot of this stuff now. Unsure what I am going to do this year.

We have to be so dark because the lights are so bright.  A normal tan gets washed out.
