Its a bunch of POG's, methinks.

There are physical requirements, but theyre pretty lax in the army. 2 mile run, pushups, crunches.

I knew a couple Marines that loved to lift heavy weights, but they always were capable of passing the PFT. PFT in the Marine corp is 3 miles under 28 minutes, 3 pullups and 50 crunches, minimum. Perfect is 3 mile in 18 min, 20 pullups, and 100 crunches.

We had a mexican Seargent that looked kind of like that dude, wide as a house, and he just ate, lifted, and made sure he could run.
Really?

I thought it would be tougher than that.

Not a flame. There are plenty of fatbodies in the army and the Marines usually look like they're in good shape. Just a little surprised at the minimums.

thats the bare minimum. If your doing 3 pullups and a 28 mile run than your a shit bag and everyone will view u as a fat pos.  Theres always people that slip through the cracks in any service.
When i was in I alaways had a 300 pft. 20 pullups was easy, 100 crunches was a joke, the run was tough, but i was alot smaller than i am now.  I really had to push hard to get under 18 min for 3 miles.  Think my best was like 17:05 and that was after running like 5- 10 miles a day for like a month straight.

Yeah its pretty bad. Like Supernick said, there are always people that slip through the cracks. Most Marines simply wouldnt allow themselves to become fatbodies. I dont know if its even possible in a line platoon, training all the fucking time.

My PFT always hovered around 3 miles in about 20 min, 12-15 pullups and 100 crunches.

but what would those guys do instead anyway? they have no education and come from shitty families that sent them into the army to get tons of money for free if they get killed.
