Check out 5:30 into this clip. Mir had Lesnar rocked (especially with the flying knee) He would have turtled Lesnar if he didn't fall into a bad spot. A game of inches.

I disagree. He was actually beating Lesnar in the standup, until he tried that flying knee. He fell into the absolute worst spot against the cage with Lesnar on top. Lesnar would have beaten any heavyweight if he had them pinned against the cage like that.

Yeah, but Lesnar is/was a vagina with no standup. To try and compare Mir's standup performance against Lesnar as some sort of comparison to JDS is... well.... irresponsible.

JDS is a fighter, Lesnar was not. Mir is an ok fighter, he's simply been outclassed. He's on the twilight of his career, no were to go but down IMHO.

It will be an interesting card tonight. I want to see how Cain bounces back against Bigfoot Silva. It should also be a slugfest between Big Country and Ed Herman. Interesting note: Lavar Johnson (guy who beat the shit out of Pat Barry a few weeks ago) Is fighting on short notice against Stefan Struve.

Even the free undercards on FX have some decent matchups Dan Hardy vs. Duane Ludwig, and Mayem Miller vs. CB Dollaway. I remember not to long ago when Dan Hardy was holding his own against GSP in a title fight. Now he is the first fight on the free card

I hope he bounces back.

probably JDS by KO. Would like to see Mir get him down on the ground though. That's the only interesting scenario for this fight. Everyone knows JDS will own Mir in the standup.

Stupid analysis of Brock vs Mir 2 he lost because he crossed his legs in the half guard trapping himself. Simple as that anyone at a decent level knows this. mir only loses when he makes mistakes not because he's out fought. ads is great though

Mir has also submitted one of the all-time BJJ greats (Nog).

People don't like Mir because he's American, a biker, obnoxious, etc. Everything the 'sophisticated' MMA nerds hate. They can't stand the idea that this guy really is good.

Having said that, I still think JDS will take it. I give it 60-40 JDS. But it's certainly not going to be an easy landslide victory for JDS. And I wouldn't be surprised it Mir won.

I'm 50/50 on this.

It depends on where the fight ends up IMO.

If Mir gets him on the ground early it will be an interesting fight. Hopefully Mir is in shape and doesn't gas out.
