there should be zero college debt , absolutley everything can be learned on the internet. This college industry shouldnt even exist , its outdated by about 10 years now since the invention of the internet. same with public schools this industry should not even exist

you could kill these two industries totally, and hire some internet people to organize all the would be "college and public school knowledges" over the internets. alot less confusion and bullshit

ya know, i thought about what would happen if you got the MBA coursework, bought all the books required (used on ebay) and got the same education for $1200.

Then again, you'd miss out on all the drinking & getting laid that comes with college

Knowledge on the internet means little, because it comes with no direction. That's what unis/colleges are there for, to apply a sense of structure to the learning process.

Getting a college/university education and ultimately degree has become very accessible in the present age. Back in my undergraduate days, there was no internet access or online search machines, now everyone has become a google scholar with access to millions of sites with information.

I've even started to see many universities offering online BS & even MS degrees. I do believe this will be the way of the future.

Ecause knowledge is power---and cash I people's hands. No matter where you go on this earth, either the rich (and powerful) rule or the educated---and many times they go hand in hand...

Besides, just because you look at the Internet to gain knowledge, it doesn't mean you becomes intelligent. Who is the say that the info is legit? Also, it seems that the info that is available, the more ignorant people become...It's like, there is tons of info on losing weight, tons of gyms, yet more and more people become morbidly obese...

Major universities will be the next bubble to collapse. Now there are so many online colleges, tech/trade schools, and certification programs that there is no reason people should build six figure debts to get a good job. Between the declining admissions that these new sources of education will cause and the thousands of people defaulting or constantly deferring their student loans the major universities will be forced to cut costs and streamline or crumble. I think it will be a great thing for the middle class. If my brother wouldn't have gotten a full athletic scholarship he would have taken a curriculum at a trade school and had a degree for the same thing in 18 months verses 4 years.
