Would you want to be famous? My best friend is a top pick in the draft.

just got the news that my best friend was a top pick in the MLB draft. not gonna say what number pick he was but trust me it was high :D but any trusted bro can pm me for the name ill decide if i want to give it to you. Hell I got pictures im looking at right now of us playing catch in my old backyard 4 months ago i was talking to him about moving out here with me to train and bulk up for college baseball i told him i could help him........ We grew up in diapers together literally, it's funny when I was younger I was always better than him and he was the one sitting on the bench when I would get the starting spot to think that he would be in this position is crazy.   Since the time I was a young kid I wanted nothing more than to be a major leaegue baseball player, I dreamed about it. Eventually just stopped playing and got into bodybuilding for whatever reason.  

Sometimes I wonder what if- had I kept going could it have been me in those shoes:D Oh well I guess its normal to be a little jealous when a  fucking teenager gets over a million dollars handed to him before he has ever worked a 9 to 5 job in his life ::)-  he's on tv right now as i type this lol. I can honetly say that I am genuinely happy for the guy though, years ago i would be extremely envious but for some reason I'm just not. If you told me I could be 240 7%, poor, working some shit job in the middle of nowhere "living the dream"....vs being a famous athlete with millions of dollars i would choose the former. call me an idiot but that's the truth and the only thing that would make me happy. What would you guys choose?

Very very suprised i feel this way. , goes to show you how your taste in life changes and how you mature with time.

If you were given the choice to look like frank mcgrath for 10 years and live a  avarege joe life, or look like derek jeter and live the life of a yankee for 10 years yet be a twink... which would you choose?

Jesus fucking christ bro I was literally talking with the kid months ago about moving out here with me to train for the summer and was gonna set him up an account on getbig and everything with the rest of us nobodies, now he's on channel 8 and on his way to fame and glory.  It's just exciting. had no idea he was going to be a first round pick he was gonna play some ball in college and major in business or some shit. The kid is 18 years old and has never even worked a part time job and is probably getting 1-2 million? lol. I dont even think he has had sex yet never seen him with a gf. Always was an akward tall skinny kid and will now get any woman he wants, I'm just happy for the guy. He's a  damn good person and has helped me out so many times when I was down,   I like seeiing good things happen to good people.

You stopped playing baseball and started bodybuilding because you can't hit the ball.  Nobody outside a bb forum knows who Frank is, while Jeter is an icon.  I suggest becoming less delusional quickly.

i dont expect you guys to understand unless you had it happen to someone you knew. all i will say is this- it wasnt the typical high school jock who had everything handed to him in life.  Picture that kid from when you were younger, always the one sitting on the bench, getting picked last in sports, the guy everyone clowned on cause he was goofy,  the guy who you didn't deserve as a friend cause you really werent that nice of a  friend yoursellf yet he still had your back at all times  rain or shine. I know you believe in karma groink, IDK I just cant help but think if it does exist sometimes the dude was just so unusually nice to everyone you just dont meet people like that too often.  great thing happened to a good person today. I've known the guy 18 years his father was my little league coach lol crazy

stopped playing baseball because building bigger muscles than you started with is a very realistic goal that you have 100% control over. going somewhere in professional sports takes alot of luck and is 1 in a million

Flint, dude, this is the wrong place for this thread.  We are get biggers here, we are all famous, we are also rich, exceedingly good looking and women throw themselves at our feet.  When you become a true getbigger this will happen to you.  Possibly.

you just dont get it do you? way to..compeletely miss the topic of this thread. Jeter is what 40? groink is around jeters age I'll use him as example.  If god said Im gonna make you an old fuck tomorrw but you have to choose! want you to trade places with either groink or derek jeter tomorrow I would choose groink. 100% truth. I NEVER LIE! cause know this- when derek jeter is at the bar and your 240 pounds he in the back of his mind is jealous and wishes he looked like that. All that fame and money but when derek jeter looks in the mirror he's a fucking twink and hates his body and will never know what its like to look impressive at 240.  When you walk in a room no woman knows you are a professional athlete unless they follow it or reckgonize you. When your huge EVERYONE will notice you. Brad pitt or the 260lb ripped guy who doesn't compete and drives a forklift for a living....i would choose the latter. You guys are the ones who I feel sorry for- you think money dictates happiness. Happiest time of my life was I had 7 dollars in my pocket spending time with a girl I was crazy for along with getting my arms to 18 inches for the first time. I feel sorry for you guys who let society dictate your feelings..

Jeter is actually 6'3 right around 200 pounds. He'd wouldn't be the small guy in the bar by any means.

I'm not famous by any means, but i work in TV and radio, and I've had people come up to me  and say hello...and they act like they know you because they are used to seeing/hearing you.  It's creepy.  Every woman in radio/tv has at least 3 stalkers, not joking.

I completely understand, and it is cool that you are happy for him.  I usually am pretty happy for those who work hard and succeed.  But it is hard sometimes to be famous.  And very tough.

We went to high school with an incredible pitcher named Rodney Beck.  One of the best in high school.  Got us all the way and won the championships in high school out here, I think the first time our school did that.  He was picked up via Major League Baseball, and at one time, was raking in the money.  But it got tough after his pitching career finished out, and eventually, not exactly sure what happened.  Except that he passed away on June 23, 2007.  At 39 years old.  Fame sometimes is tougher than you think.   Always remember to make sure he tries and stays humble.
