As great as he was...he wouldn't be running wild like that in today's NFL.....I know I'll catch major shit for saying that but it's the absolute truth. Today's NFL players are so much bigger, faster, and stronger, regardless of steriod use.
Plus...he was 6'2" when he played. He would've gotten clobbered with the way he ran tall.

i was waiting for that one, don't penalize the guy for the era he played in. the one year he didn't lead the league in rushing; he broke his wrist so he just carried the ball in the other hand. never missed a game...

they used to punish a guy more back than, they would beat on the runners when they got them down, it wasn't the pussified, water down version of football we got now...

Of course not. I think they appreciate him being man enough to do it.

Thought so. Hell, I played ½quarter-pro running back, with a middle of the pack results and I like to pee on women too!

Brown was dominate during his time period of 210-220lb middle line backers...... he would get smoked by todays players..... bigger, stronger, faster...it's impossible to say "greatest ever" because of the differences in sports by generation.

Agree, except you can argue that modern day players are "better" because they are in fact bigger, stronger, and faster.

I agree with that, to an extent. i actually think the mental make-up of the older generations in EVERY sport was superior. If you could combine, for example, Bill Russell's drive with Shaq's physical gifts it would be incredible. People forget that Russell was only 6'9" or so, playing center. As for football players, give me the old QB's who got smacked in the mouth over the "don't wrinkle my skirt/Tom Brady" types we have now.
