I don't buy ipods as I always break those fucking mp3 players so I buy the cheapest one every 3 months of so ! 

my workouts are always way better with my mp3 player, it gets me in a good mood

I think it would just let you load songs from windows media player, etc. But, it sounds like you have Itunes down. I actually bought a non-apple MP3 cuz I thought itunes were a buck a piece, which would be like 10,000$ to fill the thing, but it turns out they are just incompatible with napster.( I think)

i have a case with mine that has a belt clip attached...i sometime have to adjust it and move it around between sets.

for me its worth the trouble....especially on days when the gym is playing that club music and techno shit..that shit tortures me and i cant train while its playing.

i need to hear my hip hop while i'm training.

I learned that about a week after I bought my MP3, my sister actually pays for my niece and nephews downloads on their Ipods, so I just figured it cost a buck a song for them, my MP3 is ok though, nothing special, but it beats the hell out of a CD player.

Well, the beauty of it is that you can install software called Rockbox that will handle all your MP3's.

With this system installed your Ipod will show up as just another drive on your computer so moving songs in and out is incredibly easy. Also, since you're not using iTunes you're not tied down to iTunes' limitations.

Also, Rockbox has some cool control features that iTunes doesn't have. Go to the Rockbox website and check it out for yourself, it's pretty cool.

I just got an ipod nano.  I took it to the gym and found it too distracting.   The wire/player got in the way of barbells and the music distracted me between sets.    So I just use it at work now.

i always listened to my ipod when i worked out...but after a while the battery life diminished and i only had about 30 mins of use  on it...so it wasnt worth bringin to the gym.  sold it for an 8th of mary jane about three weeks ago.

there is nothing more annoying than when you're about to lift off a set, and a stupid slow jam comes!!!!  some gyms should ban slow songs!!!
