Weider called it "The Instinctive Training Principle" I know... dumb, anyway here's the deal. If HIT works for you, it works for you. If it doesn't work for you, don't use it. Find what works and do it. That's bodybuilding. It ain't no science.
Mentzer got me! He convinced me of all his scientific crap, saying how what works for one person must work for everyone because we're all made of the same stuff, etc.
It does work trust me, but I to have found MAx-OT much better to be honest and it pains me to say it cause I built my physique using HIT, but I could have done it quicker with MAX-ot.
horses for courses as they say, I would not rule it out in the future

Sure, it did work. I got bigger, but at the the cost of strength! Only a fool would sacrifice strength for size.
no man he wasn't strong, that picture was obviously staged, Jeff Everson did a big column on it in Planet Muscle and he said that he couldn't touch Mike as a bodybuilder but he said that he was weak, Everson was extremely strong though.
Well if I trained with HIT for years like Mentzer I wouldn't be able to get past those 30 pound side laterals hahahah. I have to wonder how strong Mike could have been if he pushed real weights without slow reps and pre-exhaust.
are you a bodybuilder? Isnt' getting bigger what matters? I could care less how much I lift on most things as long as I'm growing.....
Strength is just as important to me as building muscle.
