What he doesn't tell you is that his 42 inch "monitor" actually displays a shitty resolution and thus is essentially just a magnification aid.

(Plasmas/LCDs are not especially capable of showing high res, you can get just as much "screenspace" on a $200 monitor)

i have a 19" flatscreen, but i'm gonna use this for both a tv and monitor because it's simple.

not capable of high res????  then what is?  of course it is.  HD LCD is meant for high res

A pimp with that kind of set-up has got to be doing some gaming.

I was when I first got the system setup, but hardly ever do now, db2421 has got the new 8800, that blows the 7950 out the water.

I mainly watch high def stuff on the monitor.

I heard that the new 8800 is actually faster than two 7900's in SLI. That's just sick. And it's DX10 ready.

I go through spells where I game quite a bit and then go through spells where I don't.

I still occassionally need that Far Cry or COD fix.

The new 8800 blows every card out of the water from what I hear.

CS 1.6 and Quake 3 are the two best shooters you can get.

Hah, you really should do some research before you buy stupid impractical shit to use with a computer.  Unless you're seriously lacking eyesight that is.  You do not have a high resolution computer monitor, you have a high resolution TV.  Huge difference.

Davidpaul has the right idea.

I love the 7950, that's an awesome card, especially with two like you have. Do you know if you'll be able to upgrade it to DX10?

I'm going to put off until next summer on doing anything, with vista and DX10 and all the new dual core processors coming out I can hardly keep up with all that's going on.

Crysis does look incredible. I hope 07 is finally the year STALKER comes out too, seems like I've been waiting for that one for years.

i doubt ill be able to pugrade it to the dx10, thats what the gamers are telling me LOL.

to be honest im not gonna get anything for a couple of years at least, my monitor imo will still hold its own though.

Your system is smoking.

STALKER is a shooter that takes place in the ruins of Chernobyl.

It's supposed to be huge and the AI are supposed to be very smart.

No.  I bought it to use as a TV.

I will either use my 19 for my monitor or use this but sit farther away.  I have wireless keyboard and mouse so I can do that.

With a monitor that size you can beat off to Alexxx, Alex23, and Alex P. Keaton all at the same time.

This is true.  One GTX is 3 times more powerful than the Sony Playstation 3.

Looks like your life is centered on the screen.

I see no paintings on the wall and your "kitchen" looks like a trashcan

For me its about the res.  I'm waiting for more mass produced 17/19's doing 1600x1200.  Get 2-3 of them and that would do me fine.  There are actually 19 lcds that can do 1600x1200 but they are around double the price of your average 19.  My housemate has the 23 inch apple display which is very nice but again extremely expensive for res capacity.  I run a lot of sound stuff and really the situation is I need as much res as possible.

i was considering running a multi display setup,

the dell cost way too much.
