outsourcing has been found to be a failure in many states......costs eventually go way up and services plunge way down....prisons that have out sourced are way undermanned to save money, are dangerous and have way more prisoners escaping

That's what prison should be about for serious crimes.  We've got one not far from my house and when you drive by in the evening you can see all the tv's on in each of the cells.  Fuck that.  No TV, No radio, No Fun.  You're not going to be rehabilitated, it's hasn't been shown to work.

Do some hard time with some hard ass work.

I see your point as well....but I think the vast majority of people in jail are not there for serious crimes.....also I think TV and radio and the weightlifting and such are used to actually CONTROL inmates.....while the inmates are doing those things, they aren't plotting to hurt the guards or actually engaging in violence against guards or other inmates..I'm not for prisoner's rights..just saying

mo its not a business because if it were no one would be taken care of...it would be based on your productivity to society.....there would be no social security for old folks sitting around...there would be no welfare for those out of work...and there would be no due process....which is what is missing when gov't privatizes....fairness and lawfulness gets thrown out the window..black people know this more than anyone hence why you cannot leave things up to the individual states either..the feds have to regulate things to make sure EVERYONE is treated fairly
