June 29: Obama Rises to 67.8 Percent

Don't cry repubes! Your painful "death by a thousand cuts" will end mercifully on election day!
Shame all that fundraising money will go to waste. You would think that after Meg Whitman blew $160 million in CA and still lost, the PTR would have learned their lesson.  :-\

June 29: Obama Rises to 67.8 Percent
By NATE SILVER

President Obama, who got good news in Thursday's health care ruling, received more overnight on Friday when European leaders agreed to terms on a bank bailout. That sent the S.&P. 500 up by 2.5 percent on the hopes that this will reduce some of the downside risk in the economy.

Since the stock market is one of the economic variables the model considers, Mr. Obama's probability of winning the Electoral College rose with the European news, to 67.8 percent, his highest figure since we began publishing the model this month.

The government also released data on personal income on Friday, another economic indicator the model uses. It rose by 0.2 percent in May, somewhat stronger than in most previous months and slightly beating market expectations. Still, personal income growth has been extremely sluggish for most of Mr. Obama's term and remains the most pessimistic of the economic indicators the model uses.

The flow of polling has been comparatively strong for Mr. Obama of late, with leads in most battleground states in surveys published this week and national polls moving toward him, though some of this probably reflects statistical noise.

It is much too soon to tell what, if any, direct effect the health care ruling will have on Mr. Obama's polling numbers; the large majority of polls used by the model were conducted before it was announced.

Obama got a bump after Bin Laden got killed too. In fact, I remember libs like you, declaring the 2012 a lock for him, after that occured.

Yet, by August, his approval rating was in the 30s. He's still neck-and-neck with Romney and now has the fortune of explaining why he lied his @$$ off about not raising taxes on the middle class.

People STILL hate ObamaCare; the Supreme Court's cracked decision changes nothing in that aspect. The Dems couldn't sell it for three years plus; I doubt they can do it in four months, especially as the gory details of this mess comes to the forefront.

Ask our vets, which Obama is trying to sodomize by hiking up their Tricare rates (while leaving his union buddies in the DoD world unscathed).

ObamaCare got the Dems destroyed in 2010. And, the sequel may be on queue for 2012.

Hawk...ehhrrr Benny B.... is some poor negro with with at highest a GED education. His proclamations are ridiculous. In a way, I believe that the ruling will actually put more light on the "TAX" aspect of Obamacare and will be in Romney's benefit. In fact, if you want to be honest, a ruling against the Affordable (my ass) Care Act may have reved up the libs and negros to actually get off their lazy asses and vote for their savior...the man who would pay their mortgage. Whatever. I think enough white, Asian, and conservative hispanics will be swayed by the dishonesty of this fool to vote him out. Sorry Benny B...but I have to call a spade a spade. haha, like it matters who is in office. All these republicans with their cheesy slogans like, "lets take america back" or "no govt intervention" etc. In the end, they will turn their back on the American people.  The people who are die hard republican or democrat are even dumber than the politicians for actually believing that people in politics care about them.

this is what republicans get for letting a guy win that DID NOT reflect the majority of their beliefs.

I mean, 70% of the republicas VOTED AGAINST ROMNEY in the primaries.   He doesn't match what liberals believe, and he doesn't match what conservatives believe.  He tries to appeal to that middle 10% what watches american idol, decides the week of the election who to vote for, and is dumb as a bag of hammers.

Repubs SHOULD HAVE chosen a guy/girl early on - worked out some deal for VP, sec of state, etc - and drstroyed romney with a COALITION instead of settling for the next Dole/Kerry d-bag nobody likes.  I mean, imagine what a NewtSantorum ticket, with Bachmann for sec of state and ron paul for treasury secretary, would be doing in polls right now against obama?  They'd be WRECKING it.

But no, the 5 of them fought it out while mitt outspent them.  Oh, and the superPacs?  you dumbshits.  KEEP NEWT it in an extra month with money from ONE GUY... make romney say batshit crazy shit to win southern voters, and the expense of the general election voters.  brilliant.  end planned parenthood, support the paul ryan plan- are you frigging stupid?   the middle 10% of voters are going to eat you alive on that one, champ.  now he won't take a position on illegal/DREAM, won't take a position on SCOTUS finding - he's too scared to offend anyone.

if you don't stand for something...

Well the 2nd best to Romney was a religious nutbag....and 3rd if not close was Ron Paul and no one would ever let him win the Republican nomination give the libertarian attitudes he represents. The Republican special interest groups clearly think Romney is their best bet...this was never about the average republican public, always about the big business and other special interests.
